Nets Bolster Accusers of Christine O'Donnell, Ignore Liberal Nature of Watchdog CREW By: Brad Wilmouth Friday, December 31, 2010
As the broadcast network morning newscasts on Thursday each interviewed former Delaware Republican Senate nominee Christine O’Donnell regarding allegations that she misused campaign money, in the setup piece on each network, the correspondent failed to inform viewers of credibility weaknesses on the part of O’Donnell’s accusers and omitted O’Donnell’s contention that she did not use campaign money to pay for rent on her home. Additionally, only CBS’s Jan Crawford informed viewers that the group pushing for an investigation - the Center for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) - is a "left-leaning" group, as NBC’s Norah O’Donnell vaguely referred to a "watchdog group," and ABC’s Rob Nelson did not mention the organization.
Although both accusers who used to work for the O’Donnell campaign were fired - one after less than two weeks on the job - all three networks failed to inform viewers of these details that would suggest they might be disgruntled, snip
she asserted: "Here's where the miscommunication comes in. Because my home was vandalized and eggs thrown at my house, I paid the campaign, I paid the campaign money to use the townhouse as my legal residency. Not the campaign pays me. So they're taking it totally out of context, something innocent, they're trying to twist as negative in order to further this slanderous attack."

The MSM don’t care whether or not this is true and ultimately goes away. They merely want the allegation out there so they can refer to it in hushed tones. It will be dropped with no finding of guilt (or innocence).
The same kinds of attacks having been going on since Barry Goldwater and Senator James Buckely, brother of William Buckley.
I find it amazing that many of those conservatives who today revere Reagan would have eagerly joined in with those attacking Ronald Reagan had they been around in 1976.

What troubles me is that even some conservatives are buying the lie from LMSM, and I hope they will read the entire article from Media Research Center.
Media Research Center always does a great job of exposing LMSM.

Rove sabotaged her even AFTER she won the primaries. The establishment RINOs don’t like to lose, and Rove demonstrated his sour grapes. He seemed to have put his ego before his party, and before conservatism.
Imagine had Rove come out strongly in support of O’Donnell, rallying Republicans and bringing out a good turnout in Delaware for O’Donnell.
She wins, and was the deciding vote blocking several key bits of legislation during the “lame duck” session.
But no. Instead, we got the unprincipled maroon out there in front of every camera he could find the next day, COMPLAINING about O’Donnell while she was firing up the base and receiving huge grass-roots donations - like nothing we’ve seen in the last decade.
Which of course, is why the left is still after her.
Because they (correctly) see her as remaining an election threat.
Meanwhile, the left got everything they wanted through that lame duck session.
Rove is so typical of what is wrong with the GOP right now.
Probably why no one watches them.
The accusations about Christine O’Donnell are leveled in order to attempt to discredit Sarah Palin because she endorsed O’Donnell. Even if NOTHING is ever actually proven about O’Donnell, the media will pull O’Donnell out of their bag of tricks and use her to beat Sarah over the head should she DARE to run against their boy, “Bama”. - Rove and crew will run another McCain type, he’ll lose big though not to a humiliating extent, even though we’ll be told that we MUST back the RINO so that Obama won’t win. The same old games we’re sick of.
I saw the report, and I do not know if the accusations are true or false. What I do know is that CNN would never have the stones to air these same accusations against Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. These two have never held a job in their entire lives, but seem to live like millionaires.

The woman was a terrible candidate and the fools who gave her millions not only wasted their own money but through away any chance we had at that seat. I’m still baffled at the absolute lack of foresight to make such a massively unqualified and unelectable candidate a cause-celebre.
