She had been recovering from "an immeasurably traumatic and nearly destructive experience," which led her to reach out to close friends, according to her mother. What does that mean? Nearly died of a drug overdose? Boyfriend beat her practically to death?
The poor girl. She didn't get to pick her parents.

""In her characteristically powerful way, she was respecting and supporting their lifestyle choice. She was enjoying their company purely for what they had to offer."What a silly justification for being a homeless bum.
When (or if) this woman comes out of her drug-induced stupor, she'll realize her child is dead in part because of her failure to teach her any useful values.

One is the daughter, and the other the mother? They both look 17 in that photo.
It’s a shame that parents can’t teach their kids about responsibility these days... at least it seems the liberal ones can’t.

"an immeasurably traumatic and nearly destructive experience," Given the liberal hyperbole present it could have been something as simple as discovering that half of the population is forced to subsist below the median income.
Or her Che shirt had bled in the wash.

The kid ran away from home. She was probably using drugs and crap. Mom thinks it was ‘compassionate’.
Mom is a moron is deep denial.

her soft heart led her to stay with friends instead, according to her mother Rebecca Snook. There's something fishy about that.
;-)
To: Bulwyf
Yeah. The caption says what it says. Apparently they both acted 17 as well.

She was a product of the local school districts. When I went to my daughters commencement exercise at the University of California Santa Cruz down the road from her mother’s house I could not prepare myself for the liberal gibberish I was going to be exposed to. A thin pale white kid got up and gave a tirade on how he was going to New Orleans, join a black street gang and raise havoc on the Caucasian residents of that city in some sort of act of revenge. All I could think of was here let me buy you a bus ticket. Typical lack of attachment to reality by a liberal.

Haven't you heard the old refrain: “He was a good boy.” Seems that this lady wants to apply it to girls...with a resume like that reported here, it seems a little contradictory.

Well, they might have been a start, but at 17 yo, other things most likely crossed her mind...LOL!

“In her characteristically powerful way, she was respecting and supporting their lifestyle choice. She was enjoying their company purely for what they had to offer.”
This mother is more than delusional. I say she was complicit in raising a child who made bad choices.
That said, it must be terrible to lose a child. My heart goes out to her.

Do you happen to remember a TV program called ‘Dharma and Greg’? ... The flippant portrayal of Dharma’s hippie parents had a demonic flavor to it, like the hippies were really the better people just so misunderstood. Now, America is being ruled into oblivion by these same sorts of freaks and their demented children grown to post grad age with little or no ‘real world’ experience, just the fantasies of TV and surreal campi as their reality base.
