No charges in slaying of agent

NOGALES — Two weeks after the Border Patrol detained four men following the fatal shooting of agent Brian Terry near Rio Rico, none of the four apparent suspects has been charged in connection with the killing, defense attorneys say.Lawyers for the detainees agreed that criminal investigations can take time. But they also say the delay in pressing serious charges could suggest problems with the government’s evidence.

“All we can assume at this point is that these individuals really aren’t associated with the shooting at all. Or, while the government may think they are associated, they may not have enough evidence or information at this point to feel comfortable even meeting the probable cause standard,” said Heather Williams, assistant federal legal defender in Tucson, whose office is representing one of the four.

The fact that the detainees have yet to be charged in such a high-profile case — they now face only immigration violations — is not significant on its own, said Marc Miller, criminal law expert at the University of Arizona Rogers College of Law.“It wouldn’t be unusual to detain suspects on legitimate — but not the most serious — charges while an investigation continues,” he said. Nor would it be unusual to take time on a serious case, he said, as long as the suspects are kept in custody, especially if they are not U.S. citizens.

I guess they are waiting for Obama to return to Washington from his extended vacation, so Mexico can demand their people back.

Did you know the job of these agents is to help illegals who have been robbed by smugglers? He was part of a special unit.

This is Holder's DOJ attempting to mollify the corrupt Mexican Government. Murder of a federal law enforcement officer in the course of his duties is a capital crime. Charging these foreign murderers would set off a firestorm of criticism in Mexico, where it is appapently believed that only kidnappers and cartel magnates should have access to the death penalty. Like his boss, Holder would rather abandon Americans to terrorism and criminal violence than annoy foreigners. Their persecution of Arizona is a case in point.

Well stated G. There is only one way murder of our fellow Americans will end. That ‘way’ is getting close. I am not looking forward to it in any way but darn it, we have to start fighting back as a country. The last administration to fight back, REALLY fight back, regarding the illegals/borders issue was Ike in ‘54.........’Operation Wetback’ iirc. We can do it again.

It sounds like we have some of America’s finest buffoons conducting this “investigation”. It looks like there isn’t going to be any justice for another American murdered by the maggots from the south.
