San Antonio family caught up in rash of Mexican carjackings
KENS5-TV ^ | 27 December 2010 | Nadia Ramdass

The pair traveled to Monterrey to visit family. About a mile over the border at the busy intersection of Boulevard Luis Donaldo Colosi and Vincent Guerrero Avenue around dusk.

The couple waited at a red light when all of a sudden a sedan blocked them.

"Two doors on one side opened and all I could see was four or five guys with guns," the husband said.

"I heard 'get out of the car or I'll kill you guys,'" the wife said.

The couple got out of their four-door pickup truck. Before the thieves pulled off, they directed the couple to remove their two dogs from the bed of the truck. However, they could not do so quickly enough.

"I just saw him drive off with my truck and my wife. She was screaming in the street." the husband said.

"What will happen to my dogs? They are like my kids," the wife said.

Eventually, a good Samaritan directed the couple to Mexican police. During the 45 minutes it took them to fill out the police report, two other people came into the station reporting similar incidents. U.S. officials told them they got caught in a complex operation that all starts with a scout.

"They take a cell phone picture of [the pick-up truck], send it to [the carjacker]. They knew what they were looking for and they were waiting to stop me. That's how they operate," the husband said.

They both realized there is a good chance they will never see their truck, passport and other sensitive documents or their two dogs again. So all they can do is warn the public about the dangers of traveling across the border and to speak out to Mexican officials to crack down on this problem.

"I think the Mexican government needs the United States' help," the wife said.

Stay away from Mexico. More than a few local businesses have stopped sending their employees into Mexico for fear of carjacking, kidnapping and fear of getting caught in crossfire.

Agreed. Anyone who goes to Mexico for any reason whatsoever is asking for trouble. Before, it was just a third world hellhole.

Now, it is a third world hellhole with all the ultra-violence that goes along with it.

Mexico has been run by corrupt Socialists (Redistribute land and property to our friends!) for decades. Let’s see — corrupt government, little sense of property rights, poverty, yup, blueprint for a disaster.

So why do people like Robert Rodriguez glorify Mexico?

While my heart goes out to them for the losses they incurred, especially the dogs which were likely shot to death, it’s not like incidents like this are rare.

I don’t understand the mentality that allows people to think it will be fine for them to cross into Mexico and go on vacation even though the news is full of incidents of beheadings, carjackings, kidnappings, police murdered, and even that couple where the husband was shot on the jetski for being on the wrong side of the lake!

Why would anyone in their right mind think they might be the exception to the violence that is carried out on a daily basis in Mexico?

I recently had a work colleague that went to visit friends in Mexico City because she’d gone for years and always felt safe knowing her friends were nearby. This time, the night before leaving 11 people were shot & killed right outside her hotel. She told her friends that she doesn’t know when she’ll be back, but it will likely be a long time. Luckily while being foolish enough to go, she wasn’t one of the ones that learned the hard way.

Damn, it sounds like giving driving directions in Mexico could take quite a while.

“So why do people like Robert Rodriguez glorify Mexico”
______________________________________________________________________________

It’s because of the stupid notion that the “underdog” always has a pure character.

Which you and I know is PURE BS. It’s also because ethnic Mexicans steadfastly REFUSE to face up to Me-hee-co’s chaotic and violent history.

All you hear is the woe is me line.... “oh... we are a poor people”. When actually, Mexico has some of the richest
natural resources in all of Latin America.

They disgust me.

Better yet, send you car keys directly to the Mexican Officials to cut out the middle men. Years ago the San Diego PD and California Highway Patrol acknowledged that most of the cars stolen in San Diego ended up as 'official' cars for 'Mexican Officials'. The Tijuana police depart especially like to 'confiscate' Chevy suburbans and pickups.

God has abandoned Mexico to it’s fate. HE gave the Mexican people the richest land in Latin America. A verdant land that can grow anything under the sun that the Good Lord has put on this Earth. It’s a land of natural resources and oil. HE gave Mexicans, as HE gave all men free will. What in turn has Mexico done with this gift? They’ve turned their backs on God and the rule of law and made their country into a corrupt, lawless and murderous hell-hole they can’t run away fast enough. They’ve turned their country into a place where their politicians steal everything in sight and blame the United States. And their piss-ant little president has the unmitigated gall to come to our country and lecture us on human rights. I hate Mexico and it’s people. They are concerned only with themselves and their own selfish interests and they don’t give a damn who’s country they destroy doing it.

Obama has no interest in addressing this problem and no amount of individual macho can address the problem across the border.

Boycott Mexico!!!

This means don’t do business will people sending money back home, across the border.
