My bad! The Fallen was interred in Wyoming; not Montana. Sorry. I’m viewing the movie now and discovered my “senior moment” as the story unfolded. My urging everyone to view the movie still stands......STRONGER THAN EVER!
Was posted here last year, and has been posted at other forums as well. Its old...
For a noob, your brief posting history sure indicates a penchant for liking to lecture others as to what they may post, and if it might have been posted before. Did someone grant you some authority we should know about?

Hmm, some elements of this story seem accurate, but it’s hard to judge whether it really happened or not.
I am trained as a casualty assistance/notification officer. This means that I may have to tell a family that their soldier has died, or that I would assist a family after they have been informed. As a CAO/CNO, it may be my duty to accompany the family to Dover to witness the “dignified transfer” of their returning soldier. It could be my duty to accompany the fallen soldier.
Where this story doesn’t seem quite genuine to me is the attention given to the family. If they cannot see their soldier, the CAO/CNO will explain this to them. Every part of the process is explained to the family. And I can’t imagine focusing so much public attention on the family. As much as possible, their wishes regarding publicity are honored, and their privacy is respected.
I probably should watch “Taking Chance” at some point. It was highly recommended when I received my CAO/CNO training.
Go ahead and file an “abuse” on the opening post if you’re in such a dudgeon. Put up or shut up.
Hand salute.
Great story. Thanks for posting.
If that is fact, then you would know that forum members post stories like this quite often.
Yep...and often someone comes along and notes the dupe...only this time it’s me...

Hanging out on a guy’s street corner for ten years doesn’t give you the right to lecture him on how often he should mow his lawn, now does it?
...but if I watch him fail to stop at the sidewalk drivingh on the way out the driveway and hitting a pedestrian, the police won’t hesitate to take a statement, right?
