The GOP never learns.

I hope not, the Tea Party better serves our interests when it remains ours. Once it gets to Washington the amount of money and booze sloshing around that city is bound to drown the real patriotism and common sense that infuse the Tea Party.

Breaking up the GOP isn’t a bad idea - but it would need to be done hand-in-hand with a break-up of the Democrats as well, lest we hand over a decade or two.

For a comparison, look at what happened in Canada when the Conservative vote was split between the PC party and the Reform party - 11 years of uninterrupted Liberal rule.

My point is that this past election we had a great victory that I fear too many people felt is the ends and not the means.

This Lame Duck Session is like the Giants/Eagles game this past week. All the GOP had to do was punt the ball out of bounds during this session. We could have filibustered everything they wanted and picked up in January. Instead we kicked the ball to them and they have built momentum.

Coming in January we are still in better shape then we have been, but they can come back if we let our guard down.

Right - like START was dead - like DADT was dead - like obamacare was dead? Right...

I share your skepticism. The new GOP will fold as easy as the current GOP.

And, there is going to be one last ditch effort to pass DREAM in this lame duck.

Who says the capital of the USA should remain in Washington?

The first order of a revolutionary government would be to build a new capital city in the central part of America.

And REVOLUTION is the only solution.

Besides useless elections, anyone has an idea at what to do to save our country? Because frankly, obama is getting everything he wants, just in case you did not notice, even after november 2nd. And the only thing he wants is the destruction of America - he is doing a great job so far. Soooo are we still open to fight to save our land? Just asking.

The fight has only begun. The election was only the first shot of the war and you are a fool if you thought that these powerbrokers were going to give up without a fight. This lameduck session does not suprise me. We have a long tough struggle ahead and I assure you we are heading towards times which are going to try men’s souls. We have to fight these crooks to the death.

All 3 are leaving at the end of this term. I imagine they are home for Christmas.

I said it on a related thread: this was a backroom deal fully sanctioned by the GOP leadership. Those who voted for START are either ideological fellow travellers of Obama, those on their way out, or those who the leadership decided had enough personal political cover to vote against the wishes of their supporters. McConnell’s stated opposition (as that of McCain, Graham, Kyl, Hatch and many others) was a fraud. The fix was in. GOP bought and paid for. Business as usual and a nice was to give the finger to the Tea Party.

We already know that Kirk (Illinois) is a Scott Brown clone. Time will tell if the others (Toomey, Paul, Rubio) will truly be conservatives or if they too will get sucked into the Senatorial collegiality vortex. Boy I miss Jesse Helms. :(

I’m surprised Kirk didn’t join them. Well, even a stopped watch is right twice a day.

They should have been gathered together and told if they want to have any choice assignments or even be met with on matters important to the, they would have to vote no. This was a matter of waiting until a new Senate was seated. The Republicans are complicit with the Democrats. There is no Rino, they ALL are guilty. If you cannot enforce party discipline on something so basic as national security, you don’t want to.

The problem with your theory is that it was the contrail of a jet. No sub launched missile is going to be visible for five minutes or more as this one was.

If we reach the stage where a new American capital is being built, the Republic will have fallen and I doubt we’d like what rose from the ashes.

Revolution is NOT the conservative solution to maintaining the integrity of the Constitution.

If they do... then the Tea Party will go nuclear on them... and we will take the republicans the way of the whigs. At this point... I am ready to do whatever we need to do.

Did anyone else listen to Greta van Susteren try to explain contracts 101 to Sen. Bob Casey last night? Aside from trying to convince her that this treaty was necessary to do in the lame duck session because of the urgency of having inspectors there over the next few weeks (absurd)...even though the treaty has been sitting in the Senate since the summer; more importantly, when pressed on why we would pass a treaty in which the two parties had obvious disagreements on the meaning of the treaty, his response, at 7:30 in the video (link below) was,

"I'm not too concerned with how Russia interprets this..."

Really? You are a certifiable dumbass Casey. It's a manifestly asinine statement. Why bother with a treaty if we don't care how the other party interprets it? Will we care when they interpret it to mean that they can build nukes and we can't? This man should be recalled if he's that much of a complete idiot; it's dangerous. These are nuclear weapons we're talking about here.
