His behavior is bizarre. He thinks his son is seriously injured but he leaves him and goes to wallop the little girl?

I’d be concerned about the son too. This guy is on something, or should be.

People on the slopes are very aggressive even when they run into you.

I was coming down a Black Diamond at Snowbird a few years ago and saw a kid standing right in the middle of the lane. No problem, I rode the outside of the lane and out of nowhere this kid clocks me running me in between some trees.

He starts screaming and cussing at me and I get up, thanking my lucky stars I didn’t face plant into a tree and get up staring back at the irritated moron.

I drop my board so I can get back on the slope as I am in deep snow and walking back this chump slowly slides down on his back edge looking like he is going to fall.

He starts with the yelling again and I tell him I saw him from the top and rode down on the outside of lane to avoid him and what the h()** was his problem that he just had to go sideways across the entire lane, without a care in the and not looking to see if anyone was coming from above.

You should be looking everywhere to ensure your safety.

Anyway, I light into him calling him junked out nOOb boarder and telling him he’s lucky I didn’t hit a tree and he shouldn’t be on a black diamond especially since it’s pretty obvious he sucks.

Kid got mad and saying I could have hurt him and I just started laughing and popped by back leg into my stepins.

Then he starts talking about he’s gonna teach me a lesson and I tell him “Yeah? Gonna have to catch and I stepin my other foot.

About that time he kinda lunges for me and being on back edge just turn forward onto my front edge, he misses and starts sliding down the mountain on his belly and clawing and scrapping with his hands to stop.

I flatten my board and as I am passing this petrified snow sled laugh and say “See you at the bottom!”.

So later I’m at the bar I see the kid and he sees me. I’m with a friend and say “Uh oh” and he wants to know if that’s the kid and asks what I’m going to do.

“Well, I am going to finish my drink and then get another one”.

Kid actually walked up and apologized saying he was fairly new at boarding, he probably shouldn’t have been on a black diamond and being scared already from being on the black diamond he just went over the top when he ran into me.

I laughed and said “Drink?”

He actually replied “Sure, what can I get you?”

Now I bend over laughing and say “No! Ya dork! Let me buy you drink!”

He says “Seriously?”

I walk him over to the bar and bought him a drink.

He actually turned out to be a real nice guy and I showed him how to go down that same Black Diamond the next day.

He only knew how to go down on one edge and I showed him how to change to the other edge so it would be easier. He had it down after the 3rd or 4th run.

Lot’s of fun, a good kid and a real good outcome for everyone.

I’m not excusing him, but a 14-year-old is likely NOT a little girl. She could have looked like any teen or young adult.

My son is 14, and he’s bigger and taller than I am, and I wouldn’t be surprised if someone mistook him for an adult if he was in a ski outfit.
