India's own Charlton Hestons

NEW DELHI, India — At a posh farmhouse outside Delhi, a group of gun enthusiasts gathered on a recent Sunday afternoon to compare weapons, do a little shooting and talk strategy. Software professionals, executives and salesmen in their 30s and 40s, they're typical upper middle-class Delhiwallahs. Except for one thing: While liberal India bemoans the gun culture taking over its metropolitan cities, they're fighting to make sure one day every Indian gets the right to bear arms — American-style.

Gandhi bemoaned the fact that the British had disarmed
India and left passive civil disobedience as the Indians’
only possibility for fighting British repression. He wrote
about this in an article for the “Young India” magazine.

This looks like a result of Indians acclimating to our values while here in the US. I have known several Indians here who have an interest in firearms.

The left truly hates the idea that anyone is able to stand up for themselves and say “No!” to oppression, control, and helplessness. The left are willing to sacrifice the lives of many of the people to violence, just so the left can be their only chance for survival.

The local governments in some Indian states actually hand out weapons to citizens, to bolster law enforcement, especially in the border areas:

India Arming Schoolgirls With AK-47s To Fend Off Islamic Rebels

Indian schoolgirls aim AK-47s as they learn how to wield weapons and combat militants.

They may still wear braids, but living in the turbulent northern Jammu and Kashmir state, these girls are no strangers to violence.

One who lost her grandmother to a militant attack is eager to learn.

“We have been given training to use big weapons and we have learnt a lot. We felt very nice.”

Paramilitary troops are teaching girls to defend themselves and their villages against frequent skirmishes in the disputed Kashmir region.

“This is basically to provide training to the children, especially girls, living near the Line of Control areas to use the new weapons and also the handling of the weapons, so that if any kind of emergency occurs the girls should be ready to fight back.”

Last year, a girl in the Kashmir Valley allegedly took on a group of militants who burst into her home single-handedly.
