This is a great article. I encourage all to click on the link to read the second half of the piece as the author ponders in print if Pelosi is stupid or ignorant or . . . ?

I hope that we see as much of Nancy after she hands over the gavel as we did the minority leader in the past. What I’m saying is I never want to hear or see her again.

One dollar in tax relief should return two dollars just the same huh Nancy?

That particular talking point, that unemployment benefits are an economic stimulus, is making the rounds. She’s not the only one spouting that total nonsense. Maybe they think we’re really stupid enough to buy it and since the MSM parrots that crap it’s likely a lot of people do believe it.

Glad you liked it.

“Insufferable boor” and “pathological liar” are just as accurate in Nancy’s case as “stupid” and “ignorant,” probably more so.

Court Jester fits. What a humorless insipid waste she is. She hit her self in the head one too many times with that enormous gavel. Back into obscurity, you died-up old hag.

Ok, I earned 2.00. Gave the government 1.00. They gave it to an unemployed person. That person spent it. Of that 1.00 the unemployed person spent, 2.00 went where? I’m missing something.

I wouldn’t knock myself out trying to decipher Nancy’s unemployment crap.

Some staffer probably wrote her a memo telling her how to spin the issue and, Nancy being Nancy, she got it all bleeped up when she tried to express herself about it.

She’s wrong about this, but let’s assume for the same of argument, she’s not wrong.

For those unemployment checks to be paid out to the unemployed, the money has to first be taken from the productive taxpayers. That means one dollar is first taken out of the economy.

Then, even if that one dollar becomes two dollars, it is still a net gain of one dollar.

Now, it doesn’t return two dollars. The return might be thirty cents, at most. That means we lose at least seventy cents. But a large portion of the original one dollar taken from taxpayers would have returned more than one dollar if the taxpayers had been allowed to use that dollar whichever way they chose to use it. So, we actually lose more than seventy cents. Maybe 80 or 90 cents.

Great deal, Nancy.

I’m with you. This *thing* has acquired Jane Fonda status in my opinion. I’d like to slam her one with that gavel.

An American horror story.

One reason (the MAIN reason?) I think Democrats stand firm on extending unemployment benefits is because these payouts will have to be considered taxable income by the recipients.

Double, taxation, to be sure.

They love taxing the same money multiple times...that’s why they have no compunction about raising the estate tax.

With unemployment compensation, they get to buy some votes and make the money taxable-—if the person’s total income reaches that level.
