Listen up!

This is a big deal. There is a left wing contingent who wants to raise the estate tax in the deal. Pelosi expects the GOP to vote against this and NEEDS the Democrats to ALSO vote against it.

Her goal is to get the bill passed WITH NO CHANGES. She doesn’t like it, but that’s the only way to avoid conference — WHICH TAKES TIME.

So the GOP should VOTE TO INCREASE THE ESTATE TAX. They should vote to MAKE CHANGES. Force it back to the Senate for another vote. The Senate GOP, even the moderates, will FILIBUSTER ANY CHANGES.

THIS IS THE ONLY STRATEGY THAT STOPS DADT AND DREAM ACT. This bill MUST BE FORCED BACK TO THE SENATE TO EAT THE CLOCK. So the House GOP should VOTE TO INCREASE THE ESTATE TAX. They SHOULD VOTE WITH THE LEFT WING IN THE HOUSE.

Not if Reid is determined to keeo them in session through Jan 5th. Then there is plenty of time for those to get a vote.

Agreed - This is a BIG Deal - and works to our advantage.

Yes - it was a “Rules” vote - but it was a defacto test vote to see if the Tax Bill could pass the House.

This sounds like a great strategy, but is the House GOP smart enough and posses a large enough pair of stones to carry it out?

Force it back to the Senate for another vote.

Not sure I’m understanding you here. How does that force it back to the Senate. The Senate doesn’t have to pass the same bill. Differences are reconciled in conference. Am I missing something?
