Massachusetts Republican Scott Brown today voiced his support for a stand-alone repeal of the militarys Dont Ask, Dont Tell policy, bringing the bill one vote over the 60-vote threshold that it will need to reach if and when the Senate votes on the measure in the coming weeks.
Sen. Brown accepts the Pentagons recommendation to repeal the policy after proper preparations have been completed. If and when a clean repeal bill comes up for a vote, he will support it, said Brown spokesperson Gail Gitcho.
Browns backing means that on paper supporters of the repeal have 61 senators in favor of the bill. On Wednesday Republicans Olympia Snowe of Maine and Lisa Murkowski both announced their support for the stand-alone repeal. The House passed the clean repeal on Wednesday and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has vowed to bring it to a vote in the Senate before the end of the year.

First he signs on the Omnibus spending bill that contains 6,000 EARMARKS. - Now he's supporting openly gay behavior in the military.
BTW- what is "openly gay" in the first place?
“BTW- what is “openly gay” in the first place?”
This is “Openly Gay”

The argument made by the military is that open homosexuality is bad for morale and discipline.
Pfc. Bradley Manning is doing his all to prove that.
I am less outraged by the gay angle here than the media suppression angle: I didn’t know this. Did you know this? I never heard a word of this.
That’s what you call an embargo, my friends. If it doesn’t advance The Narrative, it never really happened.
The D. C. Repubs and Dems are all members of the same club and cocktail party circuit. Are we going to believe that these guys will suddenly “find religion” next month? Hell, no they won’t!
The Tea Partiers have to take over. And if they don’t, it’s going to be a fresh round of primaries in 2012...
Put all the queers in the same unit, send them to the fiercest fighting, repeat as necessary.
damnit
“BTW- what is “openly gay” in the first place?”
I would suspect it is something like the San Francisco gay pride parade. I can’t wait to see a company of Marines marching with 3 or 4 of them cross dressing and swishing along. barf!
I NEVER had any doubt that opposing this guy was the right thing to do. It was obvious what he is. He never was a conservative.
Better to have a known enemy than a traitor in the camp.
That’s why O’Donnell was right and Castle was wrong.

Only a military take over is going to stop this train of dog sh_t that is crashing into this once great nation. Your over-lords are all part of the same party.
I asked the same question. Because being “Openly” Heterosexual at work could get me fired. Oh, remember Tail Hook? That was being “Openly” Heterosexual as well.
But he drives a pickup.........that’s got to count for something?
Y’know, it just hit me that, although I’ve had a strong emotional response to this whole thing, I forgot my core values. It really does not matter how this goes because I treat it and efforts like it as the equivalent of rearranging the deck chairs on the titanic. It is August of 1939 and I’m more concerned about increasing the odds that my family will survive and we’ll be able to grow the plants and animals we need on our farm after this whole thing collapses.
It’s amazing how I’ve gone from the absurd statement in 2006 that this could get as bad as the Great Depression, to where I am now. It is so obvious as I look all around me. The only thing that I cannot nail here is the timing. It may just happen this fast, but I hope not:

I’ve chosen to use the “deck chairs” to fashion my family’s own lifeboat. The goofiness about repealing this law is just our government doing what it does, and confirming for me the need to do what I am doing.
There are no “Republicans” in the Socialist Republic of Massachusettes, and borrowing the name never makes it so.
This means there are certainly no conservatives in the SRM.
However, for fun Brown needs to be turned out, just cuz, and replaced with another liberal, for having dared to borrow the name, “Republican”. There should be a price for having done that. He won on the cusp of the voter revolt by lifting the moniker.
Preparations for this include “sensitivity training” for all our troops. I wonder how much time and money will be spent of that.
Well, he’s better than Coakley.
Let's assume your bogus survey is true and only 16%-20% of the military is opposed so much that they would leave the military or not re-enlist.
It seems that any objection to "gay" activities will become cause for discrimination law suits.
I didn’t know Manning was gay. I guess this just wouldn’t fit well into the whole liberal DADT repeal argument would it? Breathtaking media cover-up.
I contributed $35 to that scumbag. Now, I wouldn’t p!ss on him if he were on fire.
