Go get ‘em, DeMint.

Just doing the job McConnell won’t do.

No senator will be in attendance. Trust me on that.

"ALL bills should be read in full (in both houses) prior to vote. "

That is a great idea as far as it goes! I might suggest two additions if I may.

  1. Require that all members be present during the reading of the proposed bill. If anyone has to excuse themself for any reason, stop the reading until they are again present.

  2. Restrict the bill to a single item. No tacking on other bills to save time and speed up the process.

I wondered why Reid announced this bill so late in the morning yesterday...Rush certainly had the answer! Rush came on yelling about it today. Also, talked to my Congressman Trent Franks’ chief of staff at a Christmas party last night; she doesn’t think Trent will be voting for the tax extensions either. She wants me to remind all my republican constituents to e-mail or call Trent’s office with their opinions, gripes.

If Republicans allow ANY bills what so ever to pass they are POS.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) "hoped" in a floor speech Wednesday that DeMint would not force a full reading, calling the move a "colossal waste of time."

That's right, Harry. Reading these bills before voting one them is just a waste of time. You have to pass them before you find out what's in them.

What’s a four-letter word for a Republican who voted for the Omnibus Bill?

Oh, yeah....Whig

I want to believe this, but I will when I see it.

I can’t recall the last time a politician of any stripe followed through on uncomfortable tactics in spite of being pilloried in the press.

If it is true, it may restore my faith in the possibilities of the future.

Just emailed Sens. Nelson and LeMieux of Florida. I told them they need to cut off Reid disregarding and thwarting the will of the American people as it was clearly expressed on Nov 2. Told them they need to read everything, this has gone too far, these people are out of control, do they really want Americans revolting in the streets? This is exponential lunacy to the thousandth power.

3. Given that the Constitution is all of 14 pages and that all bills should be constitutional, NO bill should be any longer than the original bill, the constitution, that it is based on.

“Go get ‘em, DeMint.

What is it about McConnell’s personality that makes him so fearful of things like this? He seems so afraid of “over-reaching” that he doesn’t even try to reach in the first place.

The American people are crying out for a leader- thankfully we have Senator DeMint stepping up to the plate here.

Senator Sanders, S-VT, gets a gold star from me for blowing off a full day of Senate deliberations with his filibuster.

Exactly. I want the Republicans to run out the clock and making the readings of the bills is a good start. Use as much time as necessary and THEN use a filibuster! Make no mistake about this, it is the Battle of the Bulge, and DeMint is our Generall McAuliffe.
