I know the Peck Canyon region quite well as a relative lives nearby. For the last three months there has been increased activity in the canyon which stretches from east to west. Gangs have been blocking the entry of illegals and extorting money from them. Other gangs (perhaps the same) are blocking the entry of narcotics mules and confiscating their goods for sale in Tucson. It is literally the wild west, and the few Border Patrol that crisscross this area (usually on horse), are outmanned and outgunned. Frankly put, the United States controls only a few miles of the Arizona-Sonora border.
Agreed. Too many folks confuse the legal system for a justice system.
Launch the USAF’s airborne ground-penetrating RADAR aparatus.
Gather and analyze 3D data revealing tunnel structure and location every 30 days or so.
Report findings to affected bordering states and their Air National Guard flying units.
Send out a warning before calling in the Air National Guard with some F-16’s and A-10’s.
Follow that up with some special duty fire management systems to prevent spreading wildfires.
Watch for and take action to apprehend individuals, weapons and contraband.
Apologize to the UN for any unintended consequences including collateral damage.
Rinse and repeat as needed...
