Thankfully it wasnt though. Sure there are the obligatory comments from Kate about how crazy all this outdoorsy, gun shooting, camping stuff seems to her. But this episode was really more about how much kids can learn from being exposed to the great outdoors. And about how experiences like that can bring families closer together.
Sarahs father, Chuck Heath, is featured again in this episode. He is a retired science teacher and his house is like a nature museum full of fun and interesting things for kids to look at and touch like beaver skulls and porcupine quills and stuffed animals (of the taxidermy, not teddy bear, variety). Kates kids appear fascinated by the things he shows and teaches them over the course of their visit. (Note to Mark Burnett: Give this man his own show. I could listen to him talk about wildlife for hours. He is a great teacher and is obviously passionate about the world around him.)

I don’t know whose idea this was but it was a lousy one. Gosselin and Sarah Palin have absolutely nothing in common. They are from two different worlds.
Reserving judgement until after I see the episode tomorrow.
TLC arranged it, but if you read the column at the link you will see that the kids had a good time, and it’s on “The Learning Channel”, rated 5 stars for family viewing, and her series is about learning, too.
Some of us are also looking forward to see Kate act out. LOL.
Thanks, onyx....I stumbled across your threads while on vacation. I can’t usually watch during the thread, but I can sneak in and out and follow the commentary.

LOL...Funny article. She says the food and accomadations were horrible....What was she expecting the Ritz??
I bet she was hoping that Todd was going to go camping with her instead of Sarah..... In the picture she is looking up at him like she’s liking him
Thanks very much, Kathy! I know from you exactly why you’re busy. I can barely wait to see miserable Kate. I wonder how many women will identify with her, and better yet, how many “won’t.” LOL.
It is so refreshing to see Americans want to see Americans do American things. And to think that we may actually have the next POTUS be one of the people and not some 'blue blood' that grew up with a silver spoon and expects to be elected because it is their due.
LOL. I hadn’t thought of the Todd angle, but you’re probably right! I love Sarah Palin’s tweet.
See the bold faced lies in the comments? She has the Rats pissing themselves.
Exactly, and I’m already thrilled to learn that Sarah’s father, Mr. Heath is a large part of tomorrow’s episode! Woo-Hoo! for that alone.
The rats are already furious before the episode airs? Too bad...lol. Guarantees another high viewership.
“The rats are already furious before the episode airs? Too bad...lol. Guarantees another high viewership.”
LMAO Good Point.
They have in common that they both rejected conventional medical wisdom regarding their pregnancies. Sarah declined to abort her Down's syndrome baby, and Kate refused to accept medical advice to reduce the number of babies she was carrying.
It’s not like Sarah Palin and Kate Gosselin are going out on a date or getting married.
Not jumping to conclusions, I like that! Maybe it'll catch on with others?
Will not be watching this particular episode; don’t want to watch the odious Kate.
