I find this new hardline stance against Obama from the supposedly ‘hard-left’ to be nothing but a sham.
He’s still their boy.
This is a form of what I’d call ‘internal triangulation’.
This is all just them being willing to play ‘bad-cop’
(after all, what do they have to lose?) to Obama’s ‘good-cop’ (after all, what does he have to gain except his new image as a “moderate”, doing what he’s doing for ‘the good of country’). Obama will get the grudging ‘respect’ of even some Conservative Republicans on this one, to balance out the whole picture.

So true. The Elephant trap picture is ominous.

Good cop bad cop big time.

This whole Bush tax rate extension is political theater.
Obama goes out and makes a deal with the minority party. This is the same minority party that is getting blame for being obstructionists despite that fact that they didn’t have the numbers to obstruct anything. Yeah right. Pelosi and reid are not included in the deal. Then Pelosi gets all outraged and threatens to block the whole deal. Then the dimrat media goes all postal over obama “caving” into the repubs.
The only reason for the discussion of the Bush tax rates is because of the repub win in November. Either way, the dims want to the tax rates to increase because it gives them two things.
1. They get a tax hike without having to cast any votes. They only have to wait out the calender. Then they can turn around and blame Bush because he agreed to the expiration date.
2. Once all the tax rates reset up and the new obamacare taxes kick in, it will really hamstring our economy. They will be in the minority. They can then rant about how the economy has been crippled by the republicans. Never mind that it makes no logical sense.
