An Oklahoma high school teacher was arrested on a murder warrant for the 2008 fatal shooting of her domestic partner and fellow teacher in Texas.
Oklahoma City Public Schools spokeswoman Kathleen Kennedy said Seidah Muhammad Vaughn was arrested Monday afternoon at Douglass High School and is being held without bail for the murder of Judy Bell.
According to CBS affiliate KWTV, both Bell and Vaughn were teachers at Permenter Middle School in Cedar Hill, Texas.
Authorities say Vaughn, identified as Bell's partner, told police an intruder entered Bell's home Feb. 29, 2008 and fatally shot the special education teacher in the head; however, detectives found no signs of forced entry into the home.
For the next two years, police continued their investigation which spanned three states in hopes of finding new evidence in the murder case.
After conducting numerous interviews, a witness came forward with new information that led to a murder indictment for Vaughn, reports KWTV.
"Our detectives have worked diligently for nearly three years to solve this crime. We are pleased to be able to file charges and we are confident they will result in a conviction, giving family and friends closure on this tragic situation," said Cedar Hill Police Chief Steve Rhodes.
After the murder, Vaughn moved to Oklahoma City and began working as a substitute teacher in early 2009.
Shortly thereafter, Vaughn was given her first teaching assignment at Northeast High School until she was transferred to Douglass High School where she worked as a language arts teacher.
"We did our due diligence by looking up her background check and we do that with every employee," said Kennedy.
As of now, police say they do not know what sparked the shooting.
Vaughn is set to be arraigned Tuesday morning and will most likely be taken back to Dallas County for her next hearing.

It looks like Ms' Vaughns middle name has nothing to do with the story, except to point out the differences in reporting and editing from our fair ink-stained wretches in Dallas and Oklahoma.

She shot her X and fled to OK in order for her to be protected under Sharia law, since it’s not a capitol offense for a koranimal to kill an infidel under those sub-human laws. On the other hand, OK just voted against Sharia law by a margin of 70%, only to have it overturned by a Clinton appointee, who looks similar to the women in photo.
