Rejecting the DREAM Act — and the radical ethnic tribalism of the open-borders lobby; Plus: Sessions’ updated critical DREAM Act Alert

I’ve done what I can on this little blog to keep you informed and mobilized on the illegal alien student bailout that the Alinsky-ites cunningly dubbed the “DREAM Act.”

The Senate vote is scheduled for tomorrow and while it appears dead on arrival there (like every other attempt to pass this massive amnesty over the last decade), you can never take it for granted.

On the House side, lawmakers must come up with $1.4 billion in offsets to foot the initial DREAM Act bill. They have yet to do so. Moreover, as I pointed out last week, the CBO score that the DREAM Act peddlers are cheering, estimates that “the bill would increase projected deficits by more than $5 billion in at least one of the four consecutive 10-year periods starting in 2021.”

Meanwhile, White House lobbying has “intensified.” Once more, here are Senate phone numbers for the fence-sitting Republicans who need to hear from you:

SEN. JOHN MCCAIN 202-224-2235; 480-897-6289

SEN. OLYMPIA SNOWE 202-224-5344; 207-874-0883

SEN. LISA MURKOWSKI 202-224-6665; 907-271-3735

SEN. SUSAN COLLINS 202-224-2523; 207-945-0417

SEN. SAM BROWNBACK 202-224-6521; 785-233-2503

Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.), who voted in favor of the measure in 2007, says he won’t do the same this time around. {snip} he said, that shouldn’t proceed “until the borders have been secured.”

That's odd----Sen Linseed Graham said the very same thing (/snix).

Amnesty whore Lindsay Graham says he's a no on Reid's cloture vote. Sen. Graham said earlier that efforts to pass THE DREAM ACT (THAT RAINS $20B IN GOVT FREEBIES ON ILLEGALS) -- "is going nowhere."

"How can you give citizenship to 2 million people without securing our borders first?" Graham asked.

Graham also announced he's switching from Folger's Decaf to Lipton's flow-thru tea bags.

It is truly interesting that the people answering the phones for the tripe in Congress are interns. Even supervisors. Many are in school.

Their in state tuition and use of our infrastructure will be smashed to bits. As will their country.

I wonder if they know. Even if they don’t say.

Imagine if these people have little brothers and sisters, or relatives at war.

Poor ole Ben Nelson can’t even go out for dinner back in Omana without getting accosted by his Obamacare vote.

But lookie here, Lisa Murkowski is a fence-sitter. Hope she gets a splinter...

Didn’t all the Senate Republicans just not SIGN A PLEDGE to filibuster any item that came to the floor other than the extension of the Bush Tax Cuts and/or funding the government??? They need to JUST SAY NO! Until the extension of the tax rates is signed by Teh Won, it isn’t done yet!

Brownback has shut down the e-mail link on his website since he is leaving the Senate at the end of this month. I sent the e-mail to both Pat Roberts and Sam Brownback using Roberts e-mail link.

I have a feeling as long as illegals are able to enter this country illegally, we will have to deal with this dream act, until we depart this earth. We will be calling every election, this is never going away, until they can pass it

It is now being reported by the Daily Caller that colleges are now encouraging students to apply for food stamps as a way to survive and continue to pay the skyrocketing university costs. Universities like, Cornell, Portland State and Des Moines State include “how to apply for food stamps” on their financial aid section of their websites.

“Almost 14 percent of the entire U.S. population now receives some sort of government aid. The use of food stamps, in particular, has grown dramatically. There are at least 6 million more Americans receiving government food assistance this year than last, for a total of more than 42 million people,” the Daily Callersaid.

More DREAM Act inaccuracies -California colleges full
Lawmakers, advocacy groups and members of the media have been touting a lot of facts and monetary figures regarding the proposed immigration bill called the DREAM Act. And to make matters worse, Senate Majority leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has introduced four different versions of the bill, hoping one will find favor with members of Congress.

While the DREAM Act (Development, Relief and Education of Alien Minors) legislation may have admirable intentions in a time of severe economic duress, American children are the ones falling behind and losing their opportunities for higher education.

Take California for example, the state is seeing red to the tune of $20 billion per year and included in the cutbacks are colleges. As a result college tuition has increased at least 10 percent and public colleges have already authorized another 10 percent increase for the year 2011-12 school year.
