Fridays announcement that the U.S. and South Korea had finally come to terms on the biggest free-trade agreement since NAFTA was a pleasant surprise. Congress must ratify the treaty, but a raft of glowing statements from Ford (F), the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, GE (GE), Boeing (BA), the National Foreign Trade Council, the Consumer Electronics Association, the National Association of Manufacturers, etc.; suggest it has a good shot. Even the United Auto Workers, a top opponent which has never met a trade agreement it liked, kept quiet.
