Tea party group wants Palin for RNC
Politico ^ | 12/6/10 | Andy Barr

The Tea Party Nation founder Judson Phillips has sent a letter to former Alaska GOP Gov. Sarah Palin asking her to run for chairman of the Republican National Committee.

"In order for the Tea Party/Conservative movement to be successful, we have to have someone conservative running the GOP," Phillips told POLITICO. "She is the perfect candidate. If she does not try, I am afraid we will end up with just another establishment flunky running the party and the [Republicans in name only] will control the party again."

I agree. Sarah is the perfect choice for this.

Huzzah! She could help fill positions in the GOP with conservatives from the bottom, up. With her in that position, and our own TEA Party Secretary of State Project, the liberals could be buried for generations to come.

Great idea. She would be a damn sight better than Steele.

I would be happy to see anyone in that position who is “tea party” oriented. Which is to say, a constitutionalist.

If she decides it’s the best thing for her to do for the country. But I think she’d be wasted there.

If she were in the White House, I imagine she could find a good RNC head, someone who could broom out the rest of the time servers. There are plenty of good, sound people who lack her proven ability to appeal to voters and lead from the top, but who could be trusted to run the RNC.

So she’s too much of a RINO according to you to be POTUS, but head of the GOP is OK?

Just a tad bit hypocritical of you Pissant!

In order for the Tea Party/Conservative movement to be successful, we have to have someone conservative running the GOP.

Wrong. The Tea Party was successful despite the GOP. That's why Conservative candidates won their races while at the same time the RNC went into debt. People were backing Conservative candidates rather than a spineless political group. The RNC didn't listen to the rank-and-file and now they are paying the price for it.

It isn't necessary to bring in a huge name like Sarah Palin to pick up the pieces. Any schmoe can do that. But before trying to co-opt the Tea Party like this, it is necessary for the RNC to admit that the Tea Party is right and the establishment politicians are wrong.

Admitting to the problem is the first step on the road to recovery.

Hey - finally some sense! I have ZERO desire for Sarah to run for or become POTUS. She is best suited as an attack dog and energizer, which is what the RNC head is suppose to be.

Steele has been a HUGE disappointment to me, and many others.

HUH? OVER QUALIFIED for that position. Yeah, she’d make a great town supervisor here in Enfield, NY too, but I think maybe president of the United States would make more sense.

Sorry, but Governor Palin’s Skills, and Experience would be wasted on this position.

Her fighting spirit, her conservative leadership cry out for POTUS.

Just another attempt by the usual suspects to bottle her up.

"In order for the Tea Party/Conservative movement to be successful, we have to have someone conservative running the GOP," Phillips told POLITICO.

The RNC Chairman is a fundraiser, a glorified beggar, who doesn't even get to decide which candidates get portions of the funds raised. It's a sham.

That "Phillips told POLITICO" is proof that Phillips and his Tea Party Nation is RINO/Romney, anti-conservative.

Of course, only conservatives can raise the money and pull in the votes; but the RINOs certainly don't want conservatives on any of the ballots.

Sarah is the perfect choice for this.

No, she's not. By taking such a job, she would subordinate herself to the very GOP beltway poo-bahs who are trying to stop her. It would be just as big of a trap as the governor's office was in Alaska with the anklebiters trying to take her down both politically and financially.

And why would she want to pack up her family and move from Wasilla just to take orders from the current GOP leadership? Keep in mind that the RNC chairman is not that powerful and reports to a sort of board of directors, which is why Steele is getting his wings clipped.

The DNC is organized differently, with power more centralized in its chairmen. Big difference, and so you're talking about two different animals!

I agree she would be perfect for the job. That would keep her from running for Pres.
She would better serve all of us if she is head of RNC.
