The winged craft autonomously landed at at Vandenberg Air Force Base on the California coast 130 miles northwest of Los Angeles, Vandenburg spokesman Jeremy Eggers said.

Didn't this start off with 3 astronauts onboard? I am pretty sure I saw this on The Twilight Zone...

Just a historical FYI: That Twilight Zone was titled “And When The Sky Was Opened”. One of my all time Top 5 episodes ever.
