Is it just me, or is Mike Mullen a putz?
He seems to say some pretty strange things, from time to time.
Although, I think he can bench press about 250 pounds.
Mullen should resign.

Yet Gates is pontificating about how the troops are fine with that. How many surveys were done overseas with combat troops?
There’s a reason Bush and the rats threw Peter Pace under the bus and promoted this assclown Mullen. I think it’s because somebody has pictures of Mullen and little boys. (I wonder if Ubama ever bumped into Mullen at Man’s Country? Perhaps they shared a hot tub?)

I was NEVER a fan of either Gates or Mullen. These guys annoy the crap out of me. I’m not a big fan of John McCain either, but if he can help stop this madness, he’s aces with me. I still proudly serve, but I hardly recognize a lot about the military of today when compared to when I enlisted 21-years ago.
We all know gays serve today - always have, but these men want them to be in the OPENLY. Why is this so important? Stop and think about that for a second. When and if this passes, get ready for openly gay Chaplains, gay marriages at base chapels, gay-only housing and restrooms for recruits in basic training. When the “trans-gendered” crowd decides to sue for the same right to serve, look out. The law of unintended consequences...
Mullen is yet another pathetic armchair warrior who never served a single minute of combat in his life, yet has amassed a chest full of medals and the highest rank in the land. He is not a soldier or sailor but a politician who plays dress up.
I’ve been bashing McCain along with the rest of you for the last couple of years, but if he fights and wins this battle, I’m declaring him a Senatorial HERO.

They are the four guys who are directly in charge. In all due respect, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs is not directly in charge of the troops. The Secretary of Defense is a political appointee who's never been in the military. And the president, obviously, has had no background or experience in the military whatsoever. It was a campaign pledge to the gay and lesbian community."
McCain was outstanding. Giving credit where it is due.

For once, McCain gets it right. The Joint Chiefs don’t command jack squat and they are not part of the National Command Authority which runs from the President, through the SECDEF, to the combatant and specified commands, i.e. EUCOM, CENTCOM, PACOM, TRANSCOM, SOCOM, and others.
Mullen has never seen combat action. McCain was a POW in Nam, plus he has sons in the military. I believe one is in the Marine Corps. McCain appears willing to go to the mat on this one. Thank you Senator.
