With CBS chief executive wife Julie Chen safely ensconced in CBS's new daytime gabfest "The Talk," CBS News got the all-clear to announce, just in time for the holiday season, that it was giving other members of "The Early Show" on-air team the old heave ho-ho-ho.
Gone, as of Jan. 3, will be anchors Harry Smith and Maggie Rodriguez and weatherman Dave Price. The network wants you to know, however, that they will continue to be employed on air by CBS News - just elsewhere.

Don’t give a damn who they put in at C.BS, unless they put the entire news crew in a C-130 and take em up to about 30,000 feet and throw em all out, I’m not interested in watching.
Wasn't it Peter Jennings who cut his teeth in Beirut Bureau? Thats where he became a real Palestinian lover - in the biblical sense. They supposedly provided him with an endless supply of dates - so to speak.
I am so glad they have a position “...somewhere else.” It would be so demeaning for these glorified, superior, intelligent TV personalities to have to go to the common folks’ “unemployment” office.

for a guy who is about as exciting as watching paint dry, he should get out of bed and thank God every morning that he has had an inexplicable two decade career on network television.
