The bailout outrages never stop.
Of the 110-billion Euro Greece bailout, 30-billion (approx $40 billion) will be paid for by the IMF. The US supplies almost 20% of the IMF's funding (per quotas). So that means US taxpayers are providing ~$8 billion of the $145 billion going to kick the Greek can down the road.
That's the first outrage. (Why is this our problem?) The second outrage is that, as in some of the US bailouts, our bailout money is JUNIOR to Greece's existing debt. That means that, over the next couple of years, the idiot banks that loaned bankrupt Greece money will get their money back. And then, when Greece runs out of cash again, we'll be left holding the bag (along with Germany and the rest of the folks who bailed Greece out).

We bailed out many major european banks like UBS and Societe-Generale for their bad bets on credit default swaps, so why not entire countries like Greece too?
Isn’t Greece going to bail us out in the near future with the bailout money we’re giving them now?

I was wondering ... I know, I shouldn’t do this ... but sometimes I do ... with 13 TRILLION in debt, how do we afford BAILING OUT ANOTHER COUNTRY? We do NOT have the money to BAIL anyone out. We are borrowing money and about to raise our debt ceiling. I suppose we’ll just to have to RAISE our DEBT CEILING MORE so we can BAIL OTHERS OUT!

According to the US Department of Labor, 14.8 million Americans remain unemployed. 6.1 million have been out of work for 27 weeks or over.

However, the definition of refugee is ‘fudged’ in several cases. “Refugees” who have not left their country due to persecution, according to Mr. Obama’s determination letter, can still be called “refugees” if they are from Iraq, one of the Islamic countries of the former Soviet Union, or Cuba.
According to Section 413 (a) of the Immigration and Nationalities Act, the Office of Refugee Resettlement is required to submit an annual report to Congress on the activities of the refugees.
The report is supposed to include the number who are on public welfare programs.
But no report has forthcoming from the Office of Refugee Resettlement since 2007.

Greece, Ireland, Spain and Portugal (GISP) are small in GDP terms relative to Germany and France. But their banking systems grew to be very large (e.g., a 20% haircut on French bank exposure to GISP countries would wipe out French bank equity). Irish Finance Minister Lehinan intimated that Ireland asked to be able to apply haircuts to senior bank debt, and was told by the EU that it would make no money available if there were any haircuts, due to fears of contagion. What does that tell you about the risk of small countries, or the European banking system?
