"America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag" by Sarah Palin is not on this week's New York Times' best-sellers' list, but it will be at or near the top next week as Sarah's army of supporters quickly make a political statement by purchasing the book. They will also be getting a very fine read, one that displays a unified theory of America and a complete understanding of the key currents that will swirl through the politics of the next two years. Readers will also be absorbing a near perfect setup for a presidential run.
"America by Heart" adds detail to the story of Sarah and Todd Palin and their family since the conclusion of campaign 2008. We are caught up on the lives of Track, back from his service in Iraq, of toddler son Trig and grandson Tripp, of Bristol's life as a single mom (though of course without much more than a mention of "Dancing with the Stars" as the book went to press weeks ago), and of Willow and Piper. These family anecdotes often launch Palin on a chapter concerning a relevant subject, such as her essay on the sacrifices of the military which -- relatively rare among American political figures -- can include the line "as the mom of a U.S. Army combat vet. ..."
Palin's take on many issues is often unique. "Frontier feminism," for example, is simply not a subject that most American politicians are familiar with, but when Palin writes that the "frontier also produced a different kind of woman" -- and backs it up with the story of Caroline Nichols Churchill -- she is making a case that most coastal elites cannot refute or even debate because of their near complete ignorance of the subject matter.

Palin 2012.
My wife and I would volunteer.
BTTT!!
I wouldn’t go that far. Glen Beck really has stuck his neck out on many subjects like communists in the White House
You’re right.
She needs to watch her back from her own party as much as she does the Democrats.
“the series is going to hurt her”
Hardly. It’s self selecting viewing option.
God what a moronic statement. Hey a love the steelers but I can't watch them for more than a few moments....ROFLMAO....
That would actully be the real life story of a Cincinnati Bengals fan. LOL..
“”America by Heart” is an upbeat, positive affirmation of traditional American values. I have often thought and said that not since Richard Nixon can any Republican divide a room more quickly than Sarah Palin, and this is because she is so completely the anti-anti-American, totally comfortable with and confident in her assertion of American exceptionalism. ...whose appeal cannot be blunted by the endless abuse she receives from the unwatchable washed-ups on “The View” or elsewhere.”
Nice dig at Joyless and bigWhoop
This is the season when politically minded folk (such as most freepers) choose their candidate. She’s getting more exposure & free press than any other, and she’s plenty conservative.

whoever looks at the clouds will not reap.
I knew I’d get rabid responses on this. Have you watched the TLC show? Who thought of doing this? I’m sorry, I find it very contrived.

Keep trying to convince me, because I’m having my doubts. Do you think it’s going to attract people who don’t know or don’t like her? Or is it going to drive a deeper wedge between those that already dislike her and who do like her?
She has to attract all political persuasions to win.
You made a statement that makes no sense. Yes I have watched the show. It's a good show well produced and shows a side of AK and of Palin that most people have never seen.
Who thought of doing this? Gov Palin got like 400 sales pitches for a show. She made a promise when she resigned to promote AK. she is fulfilling that promise.
if you “like” Palin but can't stomach her for more than a few moments.....you do not like Palin.
things you can not “stand” for more than a few moments are not things you like they are things you hate.
words mean things.
I dislike her persona on this show. Sorry, she comes across as less than genuine. A little less vanity would work. Why is she constantly on “let’s compete” mode? You get the feeling her kids wants to say, and in fact they do, “no talking Mom.” Todd just ignores her...
I’ll give it another try, but do you honestly think this will help her win support, if she chooses to run?
Surprise: Sarah Palin’s Ratings RiseNovember

shareComments 32Sarah Palin’s fortunes are improving on TLC.
Ratings for the politican’s Alaska-based reality show grew for her third episode, reversing course after dropping sharply last week.
Sarah Palin’s Alaska delivered 3.5 million viewers Sunday night, rising 17% at the conclusion of the holiday weekend.
Normally when ratings go down double digits for a second episode, the third outing generally falls at least a little, but not in this case. Palin may also have benefited from some weaker competition (ABC had the Country Music Awards the previous week). Even so, this is great news for TLC.
Yes I do think it helps her.
Beck hasn’t influenced as many elections as Palin; at least not to any quantifiable degree.
