(Nov. 28) -- Residents of a tiny Michigan town kept searching and praying today for three young brothers missing since Friday, when their dad turned up at hospital after a failed suicide attempt and told police he left the boys with a woman to return to their mother.

Police in Morenci, Mich., said they've been unable to confirm much of the information that 39-year-old John Skelton provided about the woman and they fear the children are in "extreme danger."

Authorities issued an Amber alert for 9-year-old Andrew, 7-year-old Alexander and 5-year-old Tanner Skelton on Friday . On Sunday, searchers focused on an Ohio state park, about 10 miles south of Morenci, the Detroit News reported.

The story the father provided seems unlikely.
In my gut, he killed his own children.

Hope I’m wrong.

Have the same feeling as everyone else ... the likelihood that JoAnn Taylor exists is probably about the same as the likelihood that “Lucy Ramirez” took the bogus documents involved in the CBS/Bush scandal.

My best guess is that this selfish jerk preferred killing his children to sharing them with his ex-wife. And of course I hope I am completely wrong.

I heard this on the radio this morning, and when they mentioned that the woman may not exist, I knew the kids were dead. He killed them first, then hung himself. It’s happened so many times before; in the deranged logic of the killer, by killing his loved ones first and preventing their having to deal with his death, he is committing an act of mercy. To the non-deranged mind, it is the ultimate act of narcissism.

We can only hope that one (or more) of the boys survived whatever death their murderer (apparently their father) planned for them.

Perhaps they may yet be found alive. Let us pray.

Seems like the guy would be talking after all of that unless he somehow thinks he has something to lose.

I live about 20 miles dead north of Morenci. Tonight we had a helicopter hovering over the lake for about 20 minutes shining a spotlight around the edges of the lake. After they did that they started looking around a little pond a quarter mile away, and then on down the road to the next lake.

Don’t know if its connected but its unusual for here.

What sweethearts. If they've gone home to God, they are going to need to pray for their father (possibly for a very long time). How painfully sad. Maybe a miracle will come to be.
