When the Pope made some comments on condoms, the press ran to take his words out of context. Or, as South Australian blogger Peter Wales put it: Oh my goodness, the legacy media really are a laugh a minute. Three examples: Pope changes view on condom use. No he hasnt. Pope Agrees Condom Use Can Be Justified. Thats not what he said. Pontiff Blesses Condom Use. Did you even read what he said?
Its my view that many secular journalists are simply too emotional to cover issues pertaining to Catholics and condoms.
Tim Black of Londons libertarian-leaning spiked website also notes: Yet just as it was absurd to blame leaders of the Catholic Church for the problem of AIDS/HIV in Africa, so it is equally ridiculous to see the pope as the continents redeemer. In both cases there is idealism at work, an idealism that would embarrass the most immaterial of philosophers. For in this idealism, ideas Catholic ideas are all that matter. The Pope articulates one idea, people die; he articulates another, people live.

Liberals believe that values are changeable. And they’re obsessed with any one who believes that values are absolute.
Hmmm. The media is saturated with...ahem...men who have a hyperactive interest in the anus. Is it any wonder that they like to talk about condoms and hate the Catholic Church?
If they’re looking for moral sanction for personal depravity, good luck with it.
They’re the ones who seem to enjoy the idea of priest molestation, not us guys on the right. They’re the ones who obsessed over Larry Craig in a bathroom stall, not the right wing. They’re the ones who go on and on about teabagging, not anyone on the right.
Whenever you bring this up, the first thing out of a liberal’s mouth will invariably be “Well, didn’t Republicans go on about Clinton’s penis?” Perhaps some did, but many conservatives suspected correctly that Monicagate was designed to draw attention away from his dealings with China.
Anyway, one must wonder why liberals would attack priests for behavior that they don’t exactly disapprove of.
I have noticed the media is obsessed with the Catholic church and any attempt to attack it, they just cant avoid.
Good point.
LOL.
Excellent point. The media will never tell you that a child is more likely to be abused by a public school teacher. It just interferes with their theology.
