“Cheap shots, sure.”

Who do you support for POTUS 2012 Tolsti?

My first choice is Newt. Now, baggage is an issue along with climate control. I’d say that there is a Governor or Senate out there that will raise to the surface within the next 6 months.

The simple fact that Palin quit her job and is out there making a ton of money just grates on me - just a little, just an irritation. Also, now if she comes on or Obama - I change the channel, it’s all getting old, including the folksy humor. Besides, her daughters are now making news, sort of like the McCain fat chick daughter. I low key family of the right candidate would be very refreshing.

I don’t know yet. I really like Rubio, but he’s probably better for later on if he stands up. 2012 to me is still a blank.

Which is exactly why I cannot vote for her.

Did you vote for the misunderestimated George Bush?

GWBush had his troubles with the English language, but it never became a balking point for conservatives.

Rubio’s on my short list also. I like DeMint, Rubio, Palin and Jim Ryan (despite convention that has not see many HoReps go onto POTUS (Ford was an exception as Speaker of the House, selected as Veep by Nixon to replace Agnew and then replaced Nixon when he resigned - but not by election.)

Will you vote for Palin if she goes through?

Baggage is right. The left’s punching boy (that could be a point of pride perhaps, but very low approval numbers). I suppose he’s a known commodity to the leftist pressers. What about his support of scuzzafaza (sic) in NY 23? He’s also got issues with his affairs and divorces with the Christian part of the Republican base.

"Kids need their breathalyzers"
"I've campaigned in almost all 57 states"
"I see some of our fallen heroes in the audience today"
"Corpsemen" "Corpsemen" "Corpsemen" (3x in one speech)
"My Muslim faith"

But Sarah Palin's saying "North" instead of South gets all the press. What a shocker.

I’ll vote for Palin, of course. I have no fundamental problems with her stances. I’m just not sure she’s the best fit for the office.

That’s fair Tolsti. Hard to know where people are when there’s just a rat-a-tat of one liners...best.

I like her, but it has been two years.
///////////////
That sums up how more and more folks see her. I still have to say that she has more balls than most of the men running for President. The American People, on the other hand, see how well a smooth-talking “intelligent” President who hates US in his heart, is working out for America.

Clearly she loves this Country and what is has been, what it is, and its future much more than odumbi. As long as odumbi continues to show disdain for everything good, Americans well see how bad he really is, more and more.

Read the transcript (below): She DID misspeak:

“...we’ve got to stand with our North Korean allies.”

________________________________

Interviewer: How would you handle a situation like the one that just developed in North Korea?

Palin: Well, North Korea, this is stemming from a greater problem, when we’re all sitting around asking, ‘Oh no, what are we going to do,’ and we’re not having a lot of faith that the White House is going to come out with a strong enough policy to sanction what it is that North Korea is going to do. So this speaks to a bigger picture that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy. But obviously, we’ve got to stand with our North Korean allies – we’re bound to by treaty....

Interviewer: South Korean.

Palin: Yes, and we’re also bound by prudence to stand with our South Korean allies, yes.
__________________________________

Oh, so we’re ALSO bound to stand with our South Korean allies too (meaning, in addition to the North Korean allies she just mentioned?)? Go figure.

What a completely wordy, illogical sentence (I had trouble just reading it! By the way, I’m a professional writer):

And now this sentence:

“...So this speaks to a bigger picture that certainly scares me in terms of our national security policy.”

And this sentence:

“...Well, North Korea, this is stemming from a greater problem, when we’re all sitting around asking, ‘Oh no, what are we going to do,’”

These are not words of a Statesman. Disorganized thought and 10th grade level manner of expression.

She sounds like some of the women on “The View” (”the Spew”) with Baba Walters; the only difference is Palin is a conservative.

Compare her sentence construction to that of Reagan, need I say more?

I’m sorry, but she’s got great values, but is not as effective of a spokesperson for the conservative movement as a Bachman or DeMint could be. Whoever the Tea Party & True conservatives come up with, I’m sure will be good because we have a lot of good choices now. I just think Palin is going to embarrass herself one time too many with her ignorance of political history and her 10th grade verbal skills.

She’s popular because of her star power and good looks, but there are far better conservatives who could lead us and not offer so much real fodder for ridicule.

I have to agree. Maybe if it were any other election, we could roll the dice with her, say 1996 against Clinton’s second term when there wasn’t as much to lose. I understand people’s passion for her, I felt the same way for Reagan (still do actually). But if Obama is not defeated, Obamacare becomes the law of the land, and the chance for repeal is gone. The reality is that she’s too polarizing and we need someone who can beat Obama. Period.

You’re right, Reagan did make gaffes, but he could speak VERY well spontaneously w/o notes. After all, they didn’t call him “The Great Communicator” for nothing.

Palin is not a great communicator. She may be a good fundraiser for the RNC and that’s where I’d like to see her.

In spite of Reagan’s goofups, he sure did generate some hugely quotable quotes over the years, on a par with Churchill:

http://www.google.com/search?q=ronald+reagan+quotes&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

Honestly, I just don’t see Palin coming up with any insightful, philosophical quotables like Reagan did.

Oddly enough in recent history, Slick Willie made VERY FEW verbal gaffes, comparatively speaking. JFK didn’t either. Maybe Democraps are just slicker than conservatives and have the gift of gab.

But at this point in history, conservatives need true public speakers to convey our message to the unwashed masses in a way that won’t be ridiculed by 51% of the population.

Ain’t a big Palin fan here, but this is a non story except we will hear it over and over from the left from now to 2012. Just a slip of the tongue (gaffe) like we all have done.

Nothing to see here, next topic.

Great points! We need someone with as many strong fighting skills as possible. Palin is weak on the 10th grade verbal skills side.

I was totally smitten by her and jumping for joy at her nomination speech in 2008. She shredded Obama to pieces in that speech. But that was so perfectly-scripted and we have now come to learn her shortcomings.

We need another “Great Communicator.”

And as I’ve said, Michele Bachman is one. DeMint is another. Mike Rogers is a third.
