Ratings for Sarah Palin’s Alaska Stay Strong: 3 Million Viewers
Sarah Palin's Alaska ^ | November 23, 2010 | Discovery Channel/TLC

Posted on 11/23/2010 10:43:24 AM PST by Virginia Ridgerunner

Sunday’s episode of Sarah Palin’s Alaska attracted 3 million viewers – that’s more viewer’s more than the 2.4 million viewers who tuned in for the best performing season finale of AMC’s hit series, Mad Men.

As expected with any highly anticipated series, this week’s ratings dipped from last week’s record-setting ratings of 4.96 million viewers. It’s of course difficult to determine everything that affects ratings, but some are speculating that Sunday Night Football and the American Music Awards may have had an impact on the numbers. Find more information about these ratings at Hollywood Reporter.

Don’t let pundits fool with you to comparisons to broadcast show. Cable and broadcast viewer ratings are dramatically different from each other. Compared to other cable TV programs, Sarah Palin’s Alaska has more viewers and is considered to be quite successful. Wondering how they get these numbers? Check out this previous Broadsheet post that should help explain things for you.

Saw a fantastic show on Alaska 50 years ago at a Gun Club so I’m betting a lot of hunters and fishermen are watching the show.

So what does TLC do with this proven winner?

They release a puplicity still photograph that makes their "star" look like a back-water hick with a gun.

One also knows that if you dont catch Sunday nights show it is on every day and sometimes in the evening and once more before the new show on Sunday. Its on a rotation and many will see it.

Too true-—Discovery/TLC has also allowed liberal trolls to completely takeover the show’s Facebook page.

Or six more episodes, which ever comes first.

"So, how’s Barbour’s show doing?"

Hey no argument there. At least Sarah's easy on the eyes. Nobody would want to watch Haley huffing and puffing up hills and they sure don't want to see him in shorts. :)

Thanks! I was just now looking for stats about the last episode.

#2 was even better than the first. Anxious to see how #3 does.
This show is VERY GOOD ~ beautiful, educational, inspiring family fare.

You mean Boss Hogg? That would be the Dukes of Hazzard reruns...

Be careful now. Dukes of Hazzard ran on the networks for years and in syndication for years after that. I don’t think we’ll be seeing Sarah Palin’s Alaska in syndication but I’m sure you’ll be able to find it forever on youtube...right along with clips from My Mother The Car.
