Lugar not too worried about a possible Tea Party challenge emerging in 2012

Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.) appears to be daring the Tea Party to challenge him in the 2012 Senate primary.

While most of his GOP colleagues are heeding the advice of their Senate campaign chiefs and preparing for conservative primary challengers, Lugar is bucking his party on several high-profile issues.

Last week, he split with Senate Republicans, rejecting a voluntary, two-year ban on congressional earmarks.

That’s OK Dick

we may not have bagges McLame last time... but he had to spend $26 million to save his job (and fight harder than he fought Obambi)

Our aim will be a little sharper next time

The SENATE should be our goal, and in the PRIMARIES

Whose going to run against this lifelone clown? Start looking NOW

He shouldn’t be worried. Worry should be reserved for uncertainty. He’s probably already accepted his fate of being an ex-congress critter.

Indiana Tea Party - start early - like now, to re-ignite your campaign. Select your candidates carefully and start your engines. You have a grand and glorious job ahead!

Hold a major event early in 2011, in Lugar’s hometown.

Lugar thinks he owns that Senate seat. We really must get to term limits eventually to keep barnacles such as this from thinking they have the right to die in office.

That insufferable arrogant attitude is reason enough to show him the door!

Show him who he works for, Indiana!

I really hope he gets a credible tea party challenger. It is not enough to have strong conservative opinions, the candidate must be credible otherwise too.

In anycase, for me the final nail in the coffin would be amnesty vote during lame-duck session. If he votes for it, I will actively raise and donate money to whoever is challenging him.

Vote for Lugar!! We need to get out the vote!

What are you gonna do, waste your vote on some third-party candidate? A vote for them is a vote for the Democrat.

Tea-Partiers & Libertarians are losers. We don't need them. Don't sell out the party.

I would rather have a Democrat in the seat than a RINO.

I would waste my vote anythime rather than vote for a two-faced RINO who is really a Democrat in disguise.

You waste your vote when you vote for RINO’s

Pence is who we want to see run here at the local levels.

Lugars’ confidence on his 70% win was four years ago - before the Obama and Democrat embarrassment and which had a completely different political atmosphere here.

He has moved to the left since then, and Indiana is moving to the right. If he keeps up his “untouchable” attitude he is going to really regret with the way he is voting against the peoples wishes here lately.

Mike Pence endorsed Dan Coats and he'll endorse Lugar as well.

Lugar's a nice man, from what I've heard, but he's spent waaaay too much time in Washington for his own good, and it shows.

Pence is busy plotting his ascension to the presidency. He can't be bothered with little things like working toward a conservative Senate.

He can plot away, but he knows he’s a long shot for that seat. Lugars seat is much easier to attain, and it would be a nice stepping stone for a later run at the White House.
