Add a North Texan to the list of those very fond of Corpus. I get there every chance I can, enjoying the aquarium and the Lexington. The center city is very walkable, particularly the T Heads jutting into the bay.
Shhh! Let's keep this Texas gem quiet. One other plus is that not a whole lot of people make Corpus a destination, therefore it stays relatively crowd-free.
And with Ortiz out, Corpus goes up a few more notches in my book!
I guess the congressman who represents Corpus was also drawing from deep south Texas, but the fact is that the US congressman representing Corpus has always been a democrat and I am happily surprised that I’ve lived long enough to see it change to Republican.

one kid told me that ortiz’s claim that farenhold went to lingerie parties is why he and the under 30 crowd voted for farenhold.

I heard also that Ortiz created some resentment in La Feria, TX, when a spokesmouth of his went to a high school reunion there and used it as a campaign event.
If that actually turned out to be a positive that would so hilarious.
South Texas (the valley) as well as Austin was my home for much of my life. I love Corpus, and used to go there on weekends when I went to college in Kingsville. San Antonio is great too. Was in College Station recently. I miss Texas.
