Perry: Troops may be needed in Mexico

Texas Gov. Rick Perry said the United States should consider deploying military forces into Mexico to stem the drug-related violence afflicting the border region.

Perry, the incoming chairman of the Republican Governors Association, told MSNBC on Thursday morning that while Mexico would “obviously” have to approve any American assistance, military might is needed to defeat the drug cartels that have stymied Mexican authorities. And he pegged decreased border violence as a prerequisite for any successful immigration reform push in Washington.

The border violence is all about the War on Drugs. And it amazes me that the Libertarians want to waive the white flag as they want to surrender in the WOD and legalize the crap.

So I can see that they should want to carry that white flag policy a little further as they will want to surrender in other aspects of our border wars.

But as for me? I’m no liberal. If it takes troops to secure our border, drive the cartels away, scale back illegal immigration, etc. etc., then yeah.

Bring on the troops.

Great idea, really. Our guys are already experienced in bringing order to fifth world hell holes six thousand miles form our county. Why not apply that expertise to the fifth world hell hole right on our border? If Mexico get stabilized with the rule of law, maybe their people won't want to come up here to escape?
