Now that takes the cake!

--------------------------

Documents corroborated that Mr. Rangel's committee was instrumental in extending a lucrative tax break to Nabors Industries, an oil drilling company, while the congressman was asking its chief executive for a $1 million donation.

Move along - nothing to see here!

I was hoping they would give him about 90 days in the stocks in the middle of Central Park.

Thank you I will send emails to the Republican members in the AM.
I didn’t know who the Dem members were either but see that my congressman is on the list. He already heard from me earlier today before I knew he was on the committee. I called his office and left this message, “so much for cleaning the swamp, with all they had against Rangel he deserved far worse than the wrist slap he received”. I would have been less nice if I had known my rep was on the ethic’s committee. I think I will call back tomorrow.

The way I understand this is that these hearings were not criminal hearings but strictly related to House rules. Censure adds weight to criminal charges, if the House requests the Dept of Justice to bring charges.

OK. The House censures Rangel and asks DoJ to prosecute him (assuming that pigs can fly), but AG Holder would have to do it. That's not going to happen in our lifetimes (or Charlie's either).
