Saturday night: Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has convened his top mini-Cabinet of seven ministers for an emergency meeting in which they will vote on the United States demand that Israel re-freeze Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria for another three months.
In exchange, the U.S. promises 20 jet fighters, as well as an automatic veto of any anti-Israel resolution or demand in the United Nations.
The Palestinian Authority has repeatedly demanded that Israel freeze all construction for the 320,000 Jews of Judea and Samaria, as well as for the 300,000 Jews of northern and eastern Jerusalem. In fact, a year ago, Israel froze all construction for ten months, in the hopes that the PA would agree to negotiate with Israel. The PA refused to do so for nine months, but in September, as the freeze was winding down, abruptly agreed to negotiate - but only on condition that Israel extend the freeze

The list, ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Back in the good ole days that automatic veto was ...automatic. Times sure have changed with the infestation of the Hussein regime.
One wonders if the O might one of these days initiate a 7 year covenant with Israel.
The Israelis should tell Hussein that if he plays nice they promise no harm will come to Mecca.
the only thing I know, absolutely, is:
“Israel, obamanation is NOT your friend amd surely not your cheerleader. Why would you believe anything he says when there is evidence of his lying to the American people”. obamanation is a muslim.
“Israel, obamanation is NOT your friend and surely not your cheerleader. Why would you believe anything he says when there is evidence of his lying to the American people”. obamanation is a muslim.
And, is dangerous for Jews in America too.
Exactly, Mr. Mojo, exactly. This stuff really ruffles my feathers.
Am I reading this right? Obamanation is trying to shove Israel into a corner, by threat. G-d damn the Marxist Moselm and his anti-Israel, anti-American, unAmerican regime.
Crikey - don’t trust him, Bibi!
I believe that this whole tit for tat started when Israel went public with their refusal to be rebuked by Obama. Here is the sequence of events this weekend as I understood them.
'US failed to convince Netanyahu to halt construction' http://www.jpost.com/MiddleEast/Article.aspx?id=195159 U.S.: We'll oppose delegitimization of Israel in exchange for settlement freeze

The Obama administration did not seek to confront Israel publicly on the issue of plans for new building in east Jerusalem neighborhoods, a White House official told American Jewish leaders in a conference call http://www.jpost.com/International/Article.aspx?id=195164

My take is that Isreal is sensing Obama is weak politically and so they are forcing the administration's hand publicly. Even the public statements about an emergency cabinet meeting is more theater to alarm US Jews and shake support for Obama. It kind of sounds like the administration is becomeing unhinged. -Making fraudulent sounding offers on things that were guaranteed in the past.
“Now the threats of abandonment of Israel to the UN are overt”
What would happen if Netanyahu told Dumb’O to shove it and pulled Israel out of the UN? Taiwan seems to be doing OK not being a part of that cess pool.
Maybe Israel needs to start playing the victim. Put Obama on the spot and let him vote against Israel in the security council. Most americans still support Israel, and with 2012 around the corner will Obama alienate even more voters?
Israel should agree to no Mecca settlements at this time.
I don't think that Israel wants to do that. They will probably just stay in, hoping for a more friendly US administration in two years.
No, on second thought, Zero would get a thrill out it!!!
Instead tell him that Israel is God's land and won't take any orders from a Muzzie Queer.
This seems incredibly brazen even for 0. I can’t believe he would allow something like this to become public knowledge as it makes this admin appear totally bankrupt. But I’m also surprised they’re only asking for 3 months, that seems like a pretty small window.
Back in July when when Bibi met with 0 he asked him to expedite export approval for the new F-15SE which is a stealth version of the F-15. Obama refused to give an answer although approval to export that particular fighter had already been given, or would be shortly. Thing is the approval was given on a case by case basis which would give this admin more leverage. It’s reported the Saudis are also looking at purchasing roughly 70 of the same jet. Since 0 is in the habit of bowing to his Saudi masters I doubt they’ll have to bend over a barrel to get export approval.
Three months? Sure, I'd take that deal.
These next two years are going to be scary.
I imagine Israel is anxious for 2012 to arrive as much as American loving Americans. Bibi must bide his time carefully over the next two years...Obama knows his clock is ticking.
Thank you, dearest Nachum, for replying to me in detail.
I like your “read” into the situation. I have complete trust in Prime Minister Netanyahu. He’s not one to be bullied by the likes of this administration from Hell. I know he will never sell Israel short. My prayers continue faithfully for Bibi and Israel, right along with my prayers for Sarah Palin, her precious family, for our brave troops and for good freedom-loving people everywhere.
