Come to think of it. It’s been a long long time since I heard an engine backfire so I’ll give the officers a little slack. The whole of the east side of Kansas City is a battleground so I’d cut ‘em a little slack.

Really? I can think the guy would be busted for faulty emissions for a start.
Where I’m from - you drive an old clunker that backfires? You will be receiving lots of tickets.
