“shot out their own windows”...LOL
Reminds me of a line in “Rooster” Katherine Hepburn “Marshall Cogburn you are shooting your own food!”

Where Im from - you drive an old clunker that backfires? You will be receiving lots of tickets. Will you have police shooting at you?

The most important thing to a policeman is, that at the end of the day, they go home alive.

Come to think of it. Its been a long long time since I heard an engine backfire so Ill give the officers a little slack. The whole of the east side of Kansas City is a battleground so Id cut em a little slack. I will give them the slack on not being able to discern the difference between a backfire and gunfire.
I will not give them the benefit of the doubt for firing on a target with out verifying the target is an offensive target (a possible felon with a deadly weapon).
After all is it not the argument of the gun grabbers that LEOs are highly trained on the proper response to incidents exactly such as this. They should not be shooting until there is reasonable certainty that the suspect is armed and dangerous.

I’m also wondering if these cops are Iraqi war veterans with PTSD.

(Yes, as a matter of fact, what you do in your bedroom IS my business.)

Im also wondering if these cops are Iraqi war veterans with PTSD. In that case, they would have every right to fire at random.

Yup, here in Missouri, we shoot people. Sometimes just for good measure.
I got to see the KC Police, Grandview Police and Missouri Troopers shoot a fellow once. He really, really deserved it.
He had driven by me and my son at 10:00 at night with his lights out at 125 MPH while trying to outrun officers he had earlier tried to run over with his car. He ended up in a ditch and tried to run them over again to escape just as I pulled past the mess.

If there were injuries, the police would be guilty of causing them. Hiding behind the badge would not free them of the responsibility.

I’m gonna go with the windows being shot out not by the cops exiting but by the cops trying to work up a plausible excuse. Just conjecture, mind you.
To: posterchild
He was not injured by the shots fired by police.
Windows of the police car were apparently shot out by the officers as they exited the patrol car.
OH, I feel so safe now.

Really? I can think the guy would be busted for faulty emissions for a start. If not before, then certainly after a backfire the emissions are going to be faulty.
I haven't heard a car backfire in years.

Thank God the guy in the van wasnt hurt. Imagine how shaken up he must have been when he realized it was police shooting at him. I think hes going to be sitting pretty down the line...Since none of the bullets got anywhere near the van, I'm not sure he knew they were even firing at him.
