“Stand Up For Communism” that should be the Democrats new slogan and I bet the could ask Organizing For America to make a new logo for it. That is what they want isnt it

Some one needs to tell the writer (and the zealots on the left) that the president and 23 democrat Senators are up for re-election in 2012. After seeing what happened to this year’s incumbents the 2012 crop of Dem incumbents don’t want to be running for re-election when the at a time when the unemployment rate is over 9%.

Personally, I think the Dems blew it big time on the economy. Their solution was a big government stimulus package (slush fund) which has turned out to be a failure. If they had been smart they would have tried temporary tax cuts and some temporary de-regulation which would have given business leaders more confidence in the path forward. If they had done that and if the economy had begun to recover significantly, democrats would have been able to remain in power for an entire generation.

The left’s idea of “fighting back” is to call you a racist, homophobe, woman hater, someone who wants to starve children and old people, Jew lover (zionist), imperialist, planet polluter, country club elitist - you get the idea. It gets real old pretty quickly.

After following them for years I have learned that they don't look that far ahead. They rely on apathy, stupidity, the MSM, class envy, and voter fraud just to name a few things to carry them through. It's always worked for them in the past and dogonit they're just smarter than everybody else. So what if nobody wants what they're selling, that's what the courts are for.

They fought back, Gene. . .

I take every opportunity to point out that his name is Vicki Gene Robinson, and he is quoted (at the link) as saying (before his "union" with Mark Alexander:

"I always wanted to be a June bride." . . .

This is actually a simpler answer - they had nothing to fight for. Every single initiative they pursued either failed or was voted into law to take effect later on.

They knew Health Care would be a hard sell when their constituents hammered them before the vote. They twisted arms to pass it, but they decided it shouldn’t take effect until 2014. So they had this big bill they promised would be great for everyone, but it has yet to help anyone and has only resulted in sharp premium increases and fear of what worse may come. Their single most important legislative initiative in a generation, and they will have 2 election cycles before they can even trot out a single success story! They had nothing to campaign on.

They had Tarp, and Quantitative easing and the abstract concept that “they made ‘or saved’ 4 million jobs” but you cannot quantify which jobs if any were really saved. The people saw nothing concrete except red bank accounts.

All they could campaign on was negativity, fear and that is not a motivation to go vote.

Dear Donkeys,

You should count your blessings. Elephants have been in steady retreat since 1932. There was a bit of rallying in the 80’s, but it didn’t last.

Just keep going on about “power sharing” and “working across the aisle.” It’s the Elephants’ two favorite tunes.

>They wonder how health-care reform came to be defined not as a moral issue or a way to slow rising costs, which it is, but as a “big government takeover,” complete with “death panels.” Which it isn’t.

I can prove the death panels, Gene. That’s why you are an Obama leg-tingling mouthpiece.

I confess that I don't have a good answer.

Is this guy Robinson a moron?

Democrats in Washington don't "stand up for what they say they believe" because what they believe is that America should, as quickly as possible, become a Euro-style, socialist welfare state and be as great as... France. Democrats in Washington understand that the vast majority of normal, traditional American families are repulsed by their agenda and they do not wish to commit political suicide.

How stupid do you have to be to not figure this out?

Can you imagine if the Socialist Engineers got ahold of rationing healthcare. They would control everything you do. All we need is big loudspeakers on every corner with announcements from the government blaring 24/7.

The bi-partisanship mantra will soon eminate from every Press office in the land.

They don’t really have a clue as to why they lost. If they ever figure it out, then I’ll worry.

why so many Democrats in Washington don't stand up for what they say they believe

Higher taxes, more government bureaucracy, the homosexual agenda - those are the Democrats' policies, which naturally aren't selling with the public, and it's much less work just to demonize Republicans / Tea Partiers as racist extremists.

That's why.
