Republicans last week painted the country's northeastern corner red last week, grabbing control of the state House, Senate and governor's mansion in Maine for the first time in more than four decades in a stunning electoral sweep.
But the GOP wins might be worrisome news for the state's GOP senior senator, opening up the possibility of a 2012 primary challenge to moderate three-term Sen. Olympia J. Snowe now that state voters have shown that a fiscal conservative can win in a statewide contest.
"There is going to be a primary, and she is going to have at least one 'tea party' candidate against her. If it is done correctly, she can be beaten," said Andrew Ian Dodge, the coordinator of the Tea Party Patriots. "She is definitely the next target."

Oh yeah. Dead center in the crosshairs.
We should be targeting red state RINOs in the House and the Senate, seat we can hold with the primary winners.
Maine, not so much.
I’d rather see targets like Corker (TN), Lugar (IN), Hatch (UT) and maybe Wicker (MS)
Memo to TPP: Vet, vetted, and then vet some more.
I have a real problem with this. Do we want a Liberal Dem. or Olymipia Snowe? Maine is a Blue State. If we take out Snowe in the Primary, we will most certainly get a Liberal Dem., just like what happened in Delaware. Sometimes, you are better off with the Devil that you know rather than the Devil that you don’t know.
Ready... fire at will.
LLS
Guess whose turn it is next, RINOs...
(House)Pingree and Michaud can be defeated as well.. all they NEED is good pubbie challengers..
LePage is the TPCaucus backed new Governor..
**NOTE: The TPCaucus is GROWING in Maine.. (Jaws Theme)..
Its possible Maine could dynamic for business(Jobs) in the near future..
Graham is also up in 2014.
Would the actual votes change much?
Then why have (yellow) Snowe pollute the republican brand?
Maine, not so much.
Id rather see targets like Corker (TN), Lugar (IN), Hatch (UT) and maybe Wicker (MS)
Letting the enemy exist within our ranks is NOT and has NEVER been something we were going to tolerate. Im not sure if some people fully understand what is going on here. We are not in this to just "play the game" as its been played for decades. We are building a force (an army), capable of free us from the grip of socialism.
As we draw battle lines and fortify our positions we are also purging our ranks of the enemy. This will mean that we give up some territory but we will be better off for it. The goal is NOT to temporarily "win" a majority in the existing power structure of DC... The goal is to PERMANENTLY free ourselves and our states from the marxists/socialists and the F'ing idiots who vote for them.
No compromise, only eternal belligerence to their existence. No F'ing peace until our lives are free from their GD influence.
Palin: Because you are an elitist progressive.
Snowe: But why is that so bad? You like John McCane?
Palin: He isn't as ugly as you.
I'm afraid that that Rovian attitude gave us out of control spending under Bush, which rightly gave John Q. Public the idea that "they are all alike, Republicans and Democrats". This disenchantment with Republicans inevitably led to Pelosi, Reid, and Obama running the country, and ObamaCare, a cancer we may never be rid of.
We can never again allow RINOs to allow Republicans to be confused with Democrats. It's destructive to the conservative movement.
Remember you are looking at one still frame. Go and view this incident on You Tube video and you will see how fast this all happened and the pile up fight soon afterwards.
great point - thanks!
Although, to be fair, if she wasn't the deciding ballot, then there were plenty of other RINOs vying for the opportunity.
Maine ... ahovel the Snowe out of the House of Reps!!!!
meant to say shovel
