Wave of bomb blasts target Christians in Baghdad

A series of bomb blasts targeting Christians in Baghdad has killed at least three people and injured two dozen more, security sources have said.

At least 14 roadside bombs were detonated and a mortar round was fired in Christian districts across the Iraqi capital last night and early this morning.

An interior ministry source told Reuters that the attacks were a “continuation” of the massacre at Our Lady of Salvation church which killed dozens of worshippers last week.

According to one report, today’s bombings targeted the family of one of the victims of the massacre.

The Islamic State of Iraq – an al-Qaeda front group – claimed responsibility for the Baghdad church attack and warned in a message published on militant websites that more attacks would follow. “We will open upon them the doors of destruction and rivers of blood,” the statement said.

The latest bombings follow protests by Iraqi Christians in Sweden, Australia, Britain, the Netherlands, Germany and America who urged the Iraqi government to do more to protect the country’s minorities.

About 300 protesters at the “Black March” in London called on Britain to remember its historic debt to Iraq’s Aramaic-speaing Assyrian Christians, who fought alongside Britain in two world wars.

Two Christians were also reported to have been murdered on Sunday.

Ping to mark.

This was in an article by Fr. Raymond D'Souza that markomalley just posted:

But let us not blanch from raising our voices to the Lord, with righteous anger and hot tears, that He might visit His vengeance upon those who did this, bring down His wrath upon their heads and exact upon them a terrifying justice in full measure.

There must be negative consequences to Muslims for doing things like this. If their own Islamic countries can't control them, then those countries should suffer. Not another dime to them for anything, no support whatsoever, until they deal with this problem and have every single one of the perpetrators and their networks in jail or dead.

Meanwhile, Obama is cuddling up to people that HATE Christianity.

Obama reaches out to Muslims

Says U.S. ‘will never be at war with Islam’ in Jakarta address

By Kara Rowland
11/9/10

Building on his previous efforts to reach out to the Muslim world, President Obama stressed Wednesday that the United States “is not and will never be at war with Islam,” and extolled before a crowd of Indonesian students the possible benefits of collaboration on entrepreneurship, technology and education.

...

But while he touched on the security-related issues, Mr. Obama clearly sought to emphasize other bonds with Indonesia, reflecting on his memories as a child and praising the Asian nation’s “democratic transformation” since then. His administration announced a swath of new partnerships with the country, including a new entrepreneurship program that will be funded in part by the State Department and a five-year, $88 million initiative aimed at improving the quality of higher education in Indonesia.

Giving away money WE DON’T HAVE!

Does he understand we have RECORD DEBT?

We are BORROWING MONEY to GIVE AWAY TO OUR ENEMIES!

It’s totally insane!

Spending money we DO NOT HAVE.

Financing our own debt and printing MORE MONEY and THIS is how this ***tard spends it - on our enemies!

What people didn’t see when they elected this hate filled freak is, his idea of “spreading the wealth around” was GLOBAL. He wants to dilute America’s wealth and technological edge to our enemies and put America in her place as an impotent power. Obama’s hatred for America is over the top.

Ironically it is Obama and his wife that benefited the most ONLY because of their SKIN COLOR and economic status. Michelle was not from a “poor” family. Her dad was middle class and yet she can't get enough of YOUR money and run through it. Same with Obama - he can't live high and large enough and give away OUR money. It's truly the ugly stereotype of nrich.

I supported removed Saddam, but that was it. The countless dollars we have spent afterwards was a waste. You can’t turn countries full of barbarians into a civilized society.

There must be negative consequences to Muslims for doing things like this.

Exactly right. We've taught these people that violence directed against our interests results in concessions on our part. We must begin teaching them the opposite. Since 911 we've extended the hand of brotherhood and they scorn it. We have not earned their friendship and lost their respect

Suspend Muslim travel and immigration to the west. Economic and social disengagement. Stop western mosque construction immediately. Begin building Nuke and coal power plants to reduce our need for Mid East oil. Strong "hard power" military action against those who threaten us where it serves our interests.

The militants are only able to pull this BS because there is a large population of non-terrorist individuals and states that find it easier to go along than suppress them. We must make the cost of indifference very, very, high indeed.

This kind of thing wouldn’t had happened in Saddam’s Iraq. Sure Saddam was a son of a bitch, but he was a secular son of bitch with religious tolerance for Christians.

These Al Qaeda of Iraq acts are sheer evil, just like Saddam Hussein's acts were sheer evil.

Seems to me, the U.S. has pulled out far too soon.

Iran is funding this cr@p.

One of those blasts was so loud it shook my building and I was sure it was on base here and not far.

That sucker must have been HUGE.

Prayers up for the Iraqi Christians. I know quite a few of them.
