EDITORIAL: Obama: Send more teleprompters
Washington Times ^ | November \6,2010

Posted on 11/06/2010 5:12:32 AM PDT by Hojczyk

President Obama continues to live in a state of denial regarding the message of the midterm elections. He stubbornly clings to the belief that his policies had nothing to do with the historic "shellacking" the voters gave his party and instead blames the red tide on his lack of communications skills. What a change from the 2008 campaign, when Mr. Obama was being heralded as the great orator of the 21st century. Apparently, the 2010 election was lost because Mr. Obama didn't have enough teleprompters.

"I think that over the course of two years, we were so busy and so focused on getting a bunch of stuff done that we stopped paying attention to the fact that leadership isn't just legislation," Mr. Obama told Steve Kroft in a "60 Minutes" interview. "That it's a matter of persuading people. And giving them confidence and bringing them together. And setting a tone." The president is only now realizing that it's not a textbook example of effective executive leadership to ram through unpopular legislation while mocking those who try to point out the negative consequences of his ill-advised actions. He did set a tone, but it was one of arrogance, condescension and recklessness.

I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again: He really believes that Americans will buy anything as long as it’s packaged attractively and sold aggressively. After all, they bought HIM, didn’t they? What he doesn’t realize is that it only works with people who have no underlying principles to begin with. If your only priority is “get what you can” then sure, legislation is like any other product being sold on the shelves and if you can convince the consumer that they desperately need a cheese grater and some Ginsu knives for three easy payments, then great. But he doesn’t understand that many of us have underlying principles that preclude a simple get-what-you-can mentality. And you cannot sell a cheese grater to someone who knows they’ve poisoned all the cheese.

He was a historical accident brought about by the collapse of Wall Street in September 2008. If it hadn’t happened, I doubt he would have been elected. All his life he has had good fortune come his way. And now all the easy stuff is gone and he has no idea how to deal with strong opposition.

So the kenyan hands Steve Kroft a loaf of baloney and Kroft did’nt think to ask...

“60% of the American people were vehemently against Obamacare, bailouts, nationalizing GM, the stimulous and you passed them anyway. You called the American people that weren’t voting for dems ‘the enemy’. You sued the state of AZ for upholding federal immigration laws. You spend millions on lavish vacation. And since I only have ‘60 minutes’ I have to stop there. You don’t think that has anything to do with it”?!

“He stubbornly clings to the belief that his policies had nothing to do with the historic “shellacking” the voters gave his party and instead blames the red tide on his lack of communications skills.”

Totally false.

Obama ‘gets it’ that the electorate rejected his policies but he doesn’t care. He firmly believes there is a moral obligation to impose these policies on America. Obama blames these losses on a moral failure of the American people to accept this obligation.

For example, during the 2008 campaign, Obama was asked to justify his desire to increase capital gains taxes in spire of the evidence that this would only reduce government revenues (isn’t that the purpose of taxes, to raise money for the government?). Obama responded that even if it reduce revenues, capital gains increases were only fair since they would prevent futher disparities in income.

The only thing that drives this man is a belief that anything that ‘speads the wealth around, reducing income disparities’ is his moral obligation to impose upon America.

“we were so busy and so focused on getting a bunch of stuff done”
They were focused on making this country as marxist as they could without the public catching on. They didn’t care about jobs - in fact they WANTED to bring this country down.

He stubbornly clings to the belief that his policies had nothing to do with the historic "shellacking".

So it's not surprising the Kenyan is bitter; he clings to Obamacare or Amnesty with antipathy to people who aren't like him as a way to explain his frustration.

I disagree--the country had Bush fatigue and McCain wasn't a good candidate. He would have gotten elected, but he wouldn't have had the coattails to sweep in the overwhelming Pelosi/Reid Democratic majority in Congress. His foreign policy would have sucked every bit as much, but he wouldn't have been able to ram Obamacare through.

The president has realized belatedly that there's a difference between reading words from a teleprompter and actually governing the country. Put another way, the White House is admitting that for Barack Obama, the presidency is mostly on-the-job training.

Baby Barry and his favorite toy.

Isn't it telling that Obama, who carries a teleprompter with him wherever he goes so that he can give a better sales pitch, believes the only reason democrats were rolled under by a tidal wave of disgruntled voters is that they didn't market their socialist accomplishments properly?

In Obama's mind all they need is a new Ad agency.

Correct. I laugh when I hear the MSM pundits all theorizing that “If Obama wants to work with the new Congress he will have to move to the center.” Obama doesn’t give a s#*t about the center - I predict that he will become more and more desperate as time goes on...

So the greatest orator since Ronald Reagan did not effectivly communicate his message despite weekly prime time speeches. His excuse is lame and fraudulent. He promoted the health care plan as if it were the 10 Commandments, with enormous flair and fanfare. In fact the more he clarified with lies and obfuscation the more the public got it and rejected it.

Americas continuing calamity, B0, is the ‘perfect storm’ of all affirmative action programs.

And decades ago it started so innocently and fair minded, didn’t it? Deep down inside your gut told you differently but against better judgment we said nothing.

This is mostly true. Americans have bought into the lies of homosexuality, fornication, etc.
