Once, many years ago when I was a college student, got a weekend job doing stadium security at a Rolling Stones concert. We were asked to do "pat down" searches.
The sexual abuse I witnessed in that one night was enough to fill a crime blotter for 10 years.
I agree with the quote, but a line has to be drawn. Do we want 100% liberty? I am not at liberty to drive through the city at 100 mph, run red lights etc. I dont fly anymore but I do live under the flight path of the local airport. I wouldnt want a suicide bomber to cause an airliner to come down in my neighborhood.
I remember a time when we had no metal detectors and airline employees were polite. I became used to metal detectors and they werent much of a bother until I returned from Viet Nam the last time, I had enough metal in my body to set them off and was pulled to the side every time to be wanded.
Maybe (with luck) we can go back to the Good Old Days. Maybe (with luck) Muslim terrorists will quit trying to terrorize.
Always remember you are still free to not fly. Comfort yourself knowing that you are still free.
