The New Victory Caucus in Congress (War Veterans Elected to Congress)
NRO ^ | NOVEMBER 4, 2010 | Pete Hegseth

Posted on 11/05/2010 12:02:09 AM PDT by RobinMasters

On Tuesday, six Iraq and Afghanistan veterans were elected to Congress (and possibly seven, if Jesse Kelly pulls out his race in Arizona’s 8th district). All six (seven) of them support victory on the battlefield in Iraq and Afghanistan and a hawkish national-security posture overall. The impressive list of warriors can be found at the bottom of this post, and also at Vets for Freedom’s website.

These warriors — and the two pro-victory Iraq veterans already in Congress (Duncan Hunter and Mike Coffman) — constitute a formidable new Victory caucus in the House.

All eight (or nine) Iraq and Afghanistan veterans — an infantry-squad-sized element of Republicans — speak with special authority on very important issues facing the next Congress, especially winning the war in Afghanistan, winning the peace in Iraq, preventing a nuclear-armed Iran, and ensuring that the Pentagon has adequate resources to project American power and preserve American interests around the world.

If the others speak as has Col West about repeal of DADT/ gays
in the military then I am comforted. If they reflect Mike Mullens and Gates (in their official capacity) it would prove
troubling. NOW if the three star that Gates and Mullen came down on last March is forced out and then speaks with that
command perspective It would be America’s win and the UN forces loss.(for IMO these are no longer American Military
but have been co-opted by their leadership)

I can hardly contain myself as I write this but, here goes:
The jerk that wrote this piece is a lazy POS.
CRAP writing like THIS from the left and supposed RIGHT is exactly why nobody who is really interested in what is happening in this country reads these people.
The ONLY way to get your news is to dig it out yourself!
My candidate Michael Grimm 13th NY (YES NATIONAL REVIEW NEW YORK CITY ACTUALLY HAS A REPUBLICAN CONGRESSMAN NOW!) is a decorated veteran of the Gulf War where he won a battlefield promotion.
Now I KNOW you are the big guy and we are the “little guys” but NRO your research SUCKS! Michael was not picked to win by a single "expert" because they saw an incumbent Democrat in NYC with every union backing him. Again, these jerks know NOTHING about Staten Island so they don't bother to find out what was going on here. On Staten Island we have a large and very active TEA party that provided Michael Grimm with hundreds of very active volunteers and we overcame a $2.5 million Democrat lead and won 51/48 beating a Democrat who got 62% last time. That was against a stand in who was only running because the GOPer before him got zipper problems and stepped down from a seat held by GOPers for THIRTY years. This, of course was a secret and there was an embargo on any of this information so the "experts" didn't about these things. Poor guys they had NO way of knowing the "union members" where cops fireman and sanitation men who wouldn't vote Democrat with a gun to their heads. How could they find these things out? After all it IS only Staten Island where those silly New York City conservative Republicans live. Or maybe they were looking for Staten Island in New Jersey? Anyway Congressman elect Michael Grimm is a war veteran and shame on NRO for leaving him off! Including another vet that lost makes you look even stupider!
