Well, I can think of at least three reasons.

Arnold.

Arnold.

And Arnold.

The Terminator has presided over an absolute disaster. Worse than Gray Davis.

Ultimately, you can blame this one on Karl Rove, who persuaded Bush not to back Bill Simon when he won the primary against their chosen left-wing Republican. Then they put a DC RINO in charge of the California party. Then they jumped in and stuffed Arnold in as their designated candidate after real conservatives removed Gray Davis from office.

Why should Californians think that Republicans can fix their mess? How’d Arnold do at that job? Thanks, Karl. Great job losing that unique opportunity to turn California around.

Man, Karl Rove hasn’t been our friend, has he?

And yet there he is every night, his fat face on Fox News, lambasting our elected candidate AFTER she won the Republican primary here in Delaware, an act of so little class it defies description.

We got to get rid of Rove; he’s the leader of the Blue Blood GOP Ruling Class and soon we will have to do battle with that crew.

Already Trent Lott’s coming out of the woodwork.

Well I remember Arnold Arnold Arnold got zero help from Republicans, conservatives or anyone else in that first big election that was against the unions.
He originally took a stand and non-Democrats punked out IMO, there was no ground swell of conservatives voting.
It was so bad that parental notification of your little girl getting an abortion didn't pass.

So though I loathe Arnold in general, he originally tried and everyone punked out.
After that he got along, which I did not like.

Well said. As an ol'-timer here on FR I remember the massive flame wars between the Arnold and McCLintock factions. The Arnold crowd got quite patronizing, at least from my point of view, insisting they would go with who could win. Well, the Republican Party of California went practical. And you have noted where it got them.

After Arnie's speech at the repugnican convention, Orrin Hatch started talking about amending the Constitution to allow naturalized citizens to serve as POTUS. That's when I knew it was time to put Orrin to sleep.

Rove??Come on, you sound like some democratans many here with RDS.

Since you don't live here, your narrative is not complete. The fact is Bill Simon was a stifferoo. He couldn't campaign his way out of a paper bag.

Arnold.

The problem actually goes back to Pete Wilson, IMO.
