G'burg Dems seek sense in election (Adams County, PA Rats Scratch Their Heads!)

As the Gettysburg Area Democracy for America met Wednesday night, members joked of the "elephant in the room."

And when they asked their panel guests -- political science and economics professors at Gettysburg College -- what happened in Tuesday's election as Republicans gained many U.S. House and Senate seats, the professors said they had no answers.

"The world is a confused place," joked moderator Lou Hammann.

The group assembled at the Lutheran Seminary threw out ideas and questions as to why this election seemed to be a referendum on President Barack Obama. The one thing they all agreed on was that the Republicans had better message crafting and communication.

Many argued that the Democrats never took the time to respond to Republican claims, and didn't have as many powerful narratives that stuck with a voter.

Political science professor Bruce Larson said many Democrats think the message itself and the best policies are "righteous enough" and forget they still need a compelling message.

"There's no way getting around it, that politics are conducted in language," Larson said.

Larson added he and economics professor Charles Weise joked that Republican messages can be summed up on bumper stickers, and Democrats need a bigger bumper for more nuanced messages.

Democrats always think its about the process - never the substance. Its actually both and it never occurs to them Americans might not want all that Far Left stuff crammed down their throats.

What they needed was the license plate of the truck that ran them over. Glad to see they apparently didn't get it.

The prof thinks:

(1) Americans are stupid.
(2) If we tell better lies we can fool them.
(3) We need to work harder on crafting better lies.

The voters just told folks like the prof what they could do with their lies.

Democrats always think its about the process - never the substance.

For them, it was. When Democrats in the west saw what was happening in the east, it was time to crank up the fraud.

LOL...as though BO wasn’t on TV every day selling his snake oil and as though Dems didn’t have their state-run media blasting Leftist propaganda 24/7 since his immaculation.

(How appropriate that the blind were leading the blind at a notorious “Lutheran” seminary that has totally lost its way from biblical Christianity.)

But that would mean they would all have to sell their Prius’s and buy HUMMERS! Such a quandry: political messaging which could threaten the environment.

Oh, what to do? What to do? Perhaps rent the Goodyear blimp.

No clearer example of a person or group of persons being educated or elevated way beyond their intelligence.

Yeah. They view Americans as dumb and slow-witted, but retaining a slight cunning. ‘The morons figured out lie A after 2 election cycles? No problem! Lets move on to lie B!’

A large number of voters are still plenty confused by ‘Rat messages. The House and Senate gains should have been almost double what they were. The RINO messages still seem to be working too.

When all you have is a hammer everything starts to look like a nail. The chattering classes think that everything comes down to effective communications. They totally disregard the substance of the message that they are attempting to convey.

Christ, these people are stupid. Unemployment is 10%. Add in underemployment and it’s around 18%. Everyone is either unemployed, or knows someone who is. The Democrats spent, spent, spent, bailed, bailed, bailed, and promised we’d have unemployment dropping to 5-6%. The Summer of Recovery! Of course, none of that nonsense happened. So they were kicked out.

Well, in Pennsylvania they will have plenty of time to think because they control absolutely nothing at this point.

...more nuanced messages

One professor to another; your usage of nuanced is a primary indicator that you don't believe that the democrat party lied and twisted the truth enough to sway what you consider to be the stupid voting public. The democrat party; party of liars cheats and thieves.
