U.S. Representative Solomon P. Ortiz is weighing his options following his Election Day loss to Republican challenger Blake Farenthold.

One of the options Ortiz is considering is requesting a recount, his communication’s director said.

Ortiz’s spokesman Jose Borjon said that a statement regarding the congressman’s plan would be released today.

The margain of victory was 790 votes out of a little over 100,000 votes (less than 1%)

The Dem strategy seems to be if they are ahead in a close race (Bennet in Colorado), they declare victory, and if behind begin to explore the recount option.

I don’t know why this race for TX State house is not being recounted. 15 votes between Howard (d) and Neil (R).

Well, if it wasn't for the NW part of Austin being part of her district, I think whe sould be unemployed after the new reps are sworn in.
