Hitting them now might nudge them to reach across the aisle to the REPUBLICAN HOUSE.

Claire McCaskill in MO should be the GOP’s #1 Senate target. Roy Blunt defeated Carnahan last night by 13 pts. in MO. Too bad McCaskill now has warning and will moderate. She is a left-wing Rat hack who does whatever Harry Reid tells her to do.

33 Senate seats are up in 2012 and 21 of those are held by ‘Rats and 2 by Independents. This is why I’m confident there will be no lame duck shenanigans. Most of those 21 want to come back in 2012 and they’re not going to do anything to piss off the folks back home. Not yet anyhow.

Hmmm...23 Senate seats from the democrat caucus will be up for re-election in 2012 versus only 12 GOP Senate Seats. Thats why I don’t think much will be accomplished in the lame duck session of congress later this month.

Casey in Pa. will be up, too. But he has his family name in the Scranton area and his position is currently an heirloom.

NE should be a pickup.

ND is vulnerable, but I don’t think we have a candidate who’d win.

MT is an automatic flip if we can get Racicot to run against Tester.

DE can be won back with (yikes!) Mike Castle in 2012.

WV? Maybe, but Webb is popular.

OH? Possible, but we need a GOOD candidate to do it.

Hi? Lingle? Would she even run?

FL? Maybe. See: OHIO

I don’t see that happening to much. Manchin put himself in a box for his ‘12 re-election. He will look like a Repub. I don’t see to may others up in ‘12.

That is why this cycle was always the better shot at a GOP Senate. The D’s up are really awful Libtards. 20 are up. I am looking forward to getting rid of Casey.

"when they must defend numerous seats in swing states, albeit with President Obama on the ballot."

Yeah, exactly why we like our chances to take the Senate in 2012. Because Obama will be on the ballot. As an aside, Joe Manchin can't pull the usual say anything to get elected then be a rubber stamp for the Obama machine. He's only filling out Byrd's term. He's up for re-election in 2012.

“.... albeit with President Obama on the ballot.”

Democrat senators’ chances of re-election would appear to be better if Obama were not on the ballot.

Conservatives in the South could make even greater advances if we were not still under the heel of the 1965 Voter Rights Act. The first thing my spouse said looking at the headlines this morning was, “Now, maybe we can get rid of the really ludicrously gerrymandered political districts we have in North Carolina.” Nope, I said. Any changes have to be approved by the Justice Department. States named under the Voter Rights Act are essentially treated like occupied territories. Please, look at the districts created for electing NC representatives to the US House. To allow citizens to have their votes count — one man, one vote— we need help. FORTY-FIVE years of humiliation (by Democrats and Republicans) is enough. Free the Voter Rights states.

I haven’t verified this, but I read that of the Senators up for re-election in two years, all the republicans were survivors of the anti-Bush wave of 2006 (impressive), all the democrats rode the anti-Bush wave of 2006.

That is bad news for democraps.

The race in 2012 SHOULD be a slam dunk for the reps IF they have the guts. Oblahblah has given them opportunities to destroy him IF they can get up the courage to use them. Images of him bowing to foreign leaders, things he has said about the Constitution and the AMerican people as “enemies” are just a start.

Reps are famous for not fighting hard enough. Let’s see if they have learned anything.

Dick Lugar is a republican, but he should be targeted for removal in the primary. Sadly my choice to do that, Mike Pence has decided to run for governor. Lugar has been in the Senate for waaaaaay too long and has totally lost touch with the people of Indiana.

If they don’t retire on their own it would be a good time for the tea party to replace Lugar and Hatch.
