Missouri's statewide voter registration computer system has been down, creating delays in verifying voter registrations, according to local election officials.
"This issue is with Internet access to the voter look-up function," Laura Egerdal, spokeswoman for Missouri's secretary of state, told Fox News.
The system has been down since about 7:15 a.m., according to the Kansas City Star.
Egerdal said that there is not an issue with the voter registration database itself, and that election workers have manually been looking up voters.
Since 2006, voters who have had questions about where to vote could access a statewide computer system that houses statewide registration information. The computer glitches have forced poll workers to check paper records and poll maps to verify information and information that may not be up-to-date.

mmmmm hmmmmm.
“spokeswoman for Missouri’s secretary of state”
How nice they forget to also mention that the same secretary of state (D) Robin Carnahan is running for the US Senate seat against Roy Blunt.
Remember the 2000 MI race

Missouri Voter Registration System Glitch Leads to Delays
“
I voted at 9:30 AM in Columbia, MO.
The computerized “fast-lane” registration went very smooth.
What’s funny is that the old-school manual method didn’t take that
much more time.
My polling place (in a local church) wasn’t that busy; it usually isn’t.
I trust Carnahan as far as I could throw her. She and her DemocRATS will
pull any trick, no matter how whorish to beat Blunt.
(My apologies to prostitutes for that last remark; they are probably
more ethical than any of the Carnahans!)
A slick combination of vote supression by “computer glitches” when
working people try to vote early might be followed up by a court order
to keep “urban” polls open in KC and St. Louis.
Nothing shocks me with the Carnahans.
BUT...I drove past a middle school that is a polling place today.
The school was closed for election day...AND the parking lot was PACKED.
I estimate that at that time there were probably 200-250 vehicles.
I suspect this represents the folks that are mad as h-ll and voted
at about 70% a few months ago against Obamacare.
Too many Carnahan’s in the State. Lyin’ cheatin’ and stealin’ are not always resume enhancers even in MO...
I mean, if Democrats weren't involved, it would be unbelievable. Now, it's just infuriatingly predictable.
Update -
SPRINGFIELD — After being out for much of the day, the searchable voter database on the Secretary of State’s office is back online.
The database has been working since about 2 p.m. said Laura Egerdal, spokeswoman for Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan.
“We received no reports of any voters being unable to vote,” during the time the database was down, Egerdal said.
That didn’t stop the campaign of Republican Roy Blunt from criticizing Carnahan, however. Blunt and Carnahan, a Democrat, are running for U.S. Senate.
“Robin Carnahan had one job to do today as Secretary of State and she failed. The statewide system she installed to check the identity of voters crashed and was down for most of the morning. This incompetence is unacceptable. Robin Carnahan needs to do her job, fix this system and face the voters today to explain what is going on in her office and why she was so ill-prepared for this election. Missourians deserve better,” said Blunt campaign manager Andy Blunt, the candidate’s son.
