Dems Make Last Ditch Effort For House

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is making a last ditch effort to survive a GOP wave by blanketing the airwaves in more than 60 districts in the final week of the campaign.

According to FEC filings late Tuesday, the DCCC purchased $21.6 million worth of air time in 66 districts.

The ad buys represent the breadth of the GOP 's momentum. Among those 66 districts, many were once considered safe Democratic seats, including those held by Reps. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.), Gary Peters (D-Mich.), Bruce Braley (D-Iowa) and Raul Grijalva (D-Ariz.). Only three of the seats in which Democrats are advertising are held by Republicans.

The DCCC's financial priorities are as revealing as where the committee didn't spend. In most cases indicates that Democrats are trailing their Republican challengers by insurmountable deficits. Those Democrats include Reps. Steve Kagen (D-Wis.), Debbie Halvorson (D-Ill.), and Carol Shea-Porter (D-N.H.).

The Democratic buy indicates the party is newly worried about a number of districts in which they had not advertised before this final week of the campaign. Virginia's Connolly will see a $1.1 million ad buy, the first time the committee has spent there. The Democrats similarly spent big for the first time protecting Rep. John Adler (D-N.J.), who will benefit from $642,000 in ad spending.

And news reports this morning say they are paying out more “walking around money” on their ghetto plantations than ever before. No, no...these aren’t BRIBES, they are given out to encourage “helpers at the polls” to get out the vote.

Some Latin American countries should send election monitors to Democrat states to see how vote fraud is really done.

Can anyone follow the money trail? Were the funds laundered through ACORN-like fronts buying VISA-debit cards and sending them on, en masse, to the Dims after being given their genesis in TARP and/or Porkulus?

Dollars to donuts, my bet is that it's taxpayer money being used this was, just like a substantial portion of Barry's Presidential election $700+M.

In PA-13, considered Safe Dem or Likely Dem, Dem incumbent Allyson Schwartz, in the last three weeks of the campaign, is suddenly making personal appearances (something she is loathe to do, for good reason), and is attacking challenger Dee Adcock in the mail and on TV. Given that Adcock's biggest problem in the campaign was name recognition, why would she run ads that mention Adcock and improve his own name recognition, unless she is seeing something in her internal polling that is scaring her stiff?

Not only that, but a lot of Dems and Independents in PA-13 are Catholic - and she just sent out a mailer saying that Dee is pro-life (Schwartz is as pro-abort as they come, she used to run an abortion mill, so she thinks being pro-abort is a positive in the district). Thanks, Allyson!

A lot of the people they’re spending money on are done. This must be an effort to make district voters think it’s close so they’ll at least come out and vote as their voting will help statewide and other local Dems. If they stay home, it will hurt Dems in the statewide and state legislature races. That’s all I can figure out.

Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is making a last ditch effort

They are all talking up the car in the ditch analogy.

Three weeks and they still can't get the car out of a ditch!

Could someone please call AAA and help them out?

There is an irony that will stand the test of time when the future generations read about this massacre.

http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/dennis-byrne-barbershop/2010/09/tea-party-started-right-here-in-chicago.html

The Tea Party movement really started in Chicago , Obama’s hometown, from a CNBC reporter, network of the libs and GE, on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile, those “traders” that Obama likes to bash and that Gibbs bashed right after that rant.

The shot heard round the world that has changed the political environment. The Republican elite better take heed.

OK will these ads be:
  1. Positive ads, boasting about all of the things the Democrat Party has done;
  2. Issues-oriented ads, spelling out clearly the positions that the Democrat candidate holds;
  3. Ruthless attack ads against the Republican candidate, suggesting that he/she is the second coming of Satan, and that voting for the Republican will augur the coming of Armageddon.

I'll go with door number 3, Monty!

Ironic. The ditch is a bitch! Obama better get his skinny ass out of that ditch before the winter sets in and the snowplows bury him in it.
