After a 14-year reign, Jack has lost its stranglehold on the title of England and Wales' top name for newborn boys, replaced by Oliver....Jack remained a popular name for boys, ranking second, while Harry came in third... Ruby and Chloe were the second and third most popular names chosen for girls....Mohammed ranked 16th nationally for boys, but was the most popular name in the West Midlands...

Oddly enough, the name “Oliver” is based on French and means “seller of oil”. Not Mohammad, not kind of close.
Would love to see the 20 year trend.
It’s probably against sharia law to publish “his” name.
Even that is less statistically significant than at first appears. Simply because all Muslim parents are expected to name their first-born son Mohammed (or one of its variants); whereas non-Muslim parents have a huge variety of names to choose from....an even larger variety given the lamentably fashionable current practice (deriving, it would appear, from the US) of giving your unfortunate child a synthetic or invented name, in the deluded hope it will confer distinction.
Being from a generation that associates the name Olie with Oliver Hardy, I could never name my son that.
When are people going to forget Elmer Fudd and start naming boys that again?
Some of the names people come up with are so self-conscious and lame that it's laughable!! Pathetic, really.
You got sumthin' against the name "Elmer"?............
Actually it was my dad’s name, though he actively discouraged its use. The only ones who ever used it was his sisters and his kids (when we were goading him).

You forget Clyde Elmer Anderson (March 16, 1912 January 22, 1998), more commonly known as C. Elmer Anderson, was an American politician. He was born in Brainerd, Minnesota and served as the 28th Governor of Minnesota from September 27, 1951 to January 5, 1955 as a Republican. He died in 1998 in Brainerd, Minnesota.
Were you referring to the name “Oliver”? My name is Oliver, and I’m not a fag. My father’s name was Oliver, and he’s wasn’t a fag. My son’s name is Oliver (the third) and he’s not a fag. Just wanted to clear that up for you.
