This MAY be related to the new RPG from Russia, which uses a shaped charge to send a stream of molten copper ( through at least one side of an M-1) They may have found that “reactive armor” was inadequate to stop it.

I heard the israelis developed a system against shaped charges that uses the conductivity of the copper to make a electrical connection that vaporizes the copper at light speed before it penetrates the tank. Dont know much about how that works....
