This morning they had like $6,000 committed, now it looks like this is taking off and people have kicked in more than $10K. I threw in a $20. What the heck, it’s only if Krugman accepts the challenge and I like the inventive way they’ve engineered this.
This is more formal and academic, otherwise as they said -- they'd have picked someone like Peter Schiff who'd have wiped the floor with Krugman.
Personally, I still think that they should have gone with Schiff, who can make economics more interesting to a broader audience, but maybe that's just me.
